Tetris® Forever

Doesn't include the US NES or Gameboy versions. Great nostalgia trip but not worth the effort without the superstars.

Was disappointed with this one. The selection of games is pretty small and doesn't include the NES or Gameboy versions, shockingly. One game included isn't even a Tetris game. Controls for a lot of the games that are included are very unintuitive and awkward. The history part is okay, albeit mostly about business, if you're into that. Personally I would skip buying this if you're looking to actually play Tetris.

Really impressed with how this game was presented. It's not just a game, it's a documentary that you can actually play through years of Tetris history. If you like gaming history, I'd highly recommend this. Just remember, you won't be getting any of the NES and Game Boy versions of the game because of Nintendo. It would've really completed this collection due to the essential part of the history (I mean, there was a whole movie about the whole thing). But excluding those two games shouldn't really be a deal breaker.

Tetris Forever feels like a beautifully curated museum dedicated to the history and evolution of Tetris across the decades. I especially loved the modern “Time Warp” take on the formula, which adds a fresh twist while still respecting the roots of the series. That said, the Electronika version is absolutely brutal and quickly reminded me how unforgiving old-school gaming could be 😄

おすすめにしましたが、無条件に誰にでもおすすめではありません。 テトリスというゲームが好きで、その生い立ち、歴史に興味があることが条件になると思います。 このソフトは複数のテトリス、あるいはテトリス関係のゲームが楽しめますがそれはあくまでおまけ的な意味合いしか無く、基本的にテトリスというゲームの作者、誕生秘話、販売会社、権利関係などの歴史を詳しく俯瞰するためのものです。でもこれがなかなか楽しいのです。 テトリスというゲームが好きだと、１９８４年に誕生した最初のテトリスってどんなものだったのだろう？一度プレイしてみたいなと思いませんか？このソフトはそんな夢を叶えてくれます。 最初のテトリスはグラフィックではなく文字・記号を組み合わせたペントミノで構成されていたのですが、それを見事に再現したソフトが付属しており、もちろんちゃんとそれもゲームパッドを使って遊べます（もちろんオリジナルはキーボード操作で遊びます）。少なくとも私はこの初代ソフトを遊ぶことに楽しみを覚え、そして感動しました。正直これだけでこのソフトを買ってよかったと思ったくらいです。個人的なことですが、遊んで驚いたのは最初のテトリスにハードドロップ機能がついていたことです。私が初めてテトリスを遊んだのはゲームボーイだったと思いますが、それにはソフトドロップしかありませんでした。私は勝手にハードドロップは２００２年ごろに策定された所謂テトリスガイドライン後に追加された機能だと思っていたのでびっくりしたのです。 このソフトはチャプタ１～５に分かれてテトリスの歴史を写真、ビデオ、実際に遊べるソフトなどで振り返りますが、それぞれのチャプターに進行度というパラメーターがあり、隅々までちゃんと見ないとそれが１００％になりません。最初、それなりにじっくりとちゃんと見たつもりだったのですが、９８％とか、９７％と表示され何かを見落としていると言われているようで意地になって何度かじっくり見直してようやくすべて１００％になったのですがなんかこれ自体がゲームのように感じてしまいました。ｗ あと、このソフトを購入された方はぜひとも Apple TV で見られる「テトリス」と言う映画をご覧になることを強くお勧めします。それが出来なくても、youtube で予告編やワンシーンが見られるので是非。 映画を見てからこのソフトを買うものも良し、このソフトを楽しんでから映画を見るもの良いでしょう。映画を見ながら「あ、これは Tetris Foreverのアレのことだな」、逆に Tetris Forever を遊びながら映画のワンシーンが思い浮かぶのは実になかなか楽しいのです。 最後にこのソフト、定価だと高いと思います。前から気にはなっていたのですが値段に躊躇していました。 実際、私はウィッシュリストに登録しておいてセールの時に買いました。 以上、思うところを書きなぐりました。もしご参考になると幸いです。 失礼しました。

I'm glad I never purchased this game full price, how can you make a compilation and not include the Gameboy version, The version that made it famous, all the games on here are boring or look like some bootleg version of the game a complete waste of money even though I only payed about 2 pounds for it

Czym jest Forever? To taka krótka, cyfrowa encyklopedia na temat Tetrisa. Jest tu kilka wersji gry, w które można zagrać. Główny tryb polega na skakaniu między różnymi etapami rozwoju tej produkcji, począwszy od wczesnych wersji gry od automatów przez konsole do PC. Bardzo przyjemny, troszeczkę unowocześniony gameplay i znana wszystkim muzyka. Co tu dużo mówić - grajcie w Tetrisa!
