About
Calling all Fans of classic action-puzzle games such as ChuChu Rocket! Super Puzzle Blasters is the game you have been waiting for!
B3RN1 (Bernie) is a patrol bot with the Intergalactic Federation, tasked with keeping the galaxy safe from would-be villains. After defeating the nefarious King Tyrantadon in the dinosaur-filled world of Super DinoBlasters, its time for B3RN1 to help return all the lost dinosaur eggs to their nests!
Super Puzzle Blasters is a captivating puzzle game full of challenges, quirky mechanics, and the thrill of multiplayer competition, all wrapped in a charming, 90's adventure. Are you ready to help B3RN1 save the eggs and become a hero of the galaxy?
The goal of the game is to get B3RN1 and the lost dinosaur eggs back to the nest located in the level. You do this by laying directional tiles and bomb tiles on the puzzle stage play area to create a safe path to the goal. Once you are happy with your chosen tile locations hit GO! to send B3RN1 and the eggs on there auto run journey, if things are not going to plan you can hit RESET at any time to reset the level and the tiles.
Super Puzzle Blasters has full controller support for Xbox Gamepads, However if you are more of a Nintendo or PlayStation player you can change the in game button icons to match your preferred console of choice. The game defaults to a Super Nintendo button and graphic configuration, but if you hit LT/L2 at the title screen you can filter through the different controller modes. When on Xbox mode the game will swap the positions of the A/B & X/Y buttons and display xbox style button icons on screen. On PlayStation mode you will get the familiar Cross, Square, Triangle, Circle icons displayed with PlayStation coloured directional tiles. These changes can also be made from the controller options menu.
When using the mouse input you use the scroll wheel to cycle through your available tiles, while using the on screen buttons to click GO! and Reset! You can switch between mouse and controller modes on the fly simply by either wiggling the mouse for mouse mode or the left analogue stick to activate controller mode.
At present multiplayer is local only and requires each player to use a controller to play. There are 2 modes to choose from Classic or Egg Heist. In Classic multiplayer players compete head to head using there own cursors to lay tiles to direct the most eggs to there nest whilst having to deal with the random events created from the spinning wheel of chance.
In Egg Heist mode each player takes direct control of their own character to hunt for eggs by blowing up rocks. Once you find an egg you must quickly take it back to your goal area to earn points, but be careful other players can steal your eggs!

Really fun retro game, multiplayer is great for parties, very fast paced and chaotic in the best way
Super Puzzle Blasters is a fun short game reminiscent of the Chu Chu Rocket series. They play like puzzles where you must place arrows on your character's path to guide them to the exit. Sometimes you will need to dodge enemies or use bombs to blast the environment open, or push ice blocks to help you reach your goal. Each new level adds a little twist to keep you on your toes. A hint system or allowing for speedier attempts would be welcome improvements. With 50 levels total it never felt overly frustrating nor does it overstay its welcome. For what it's worth, I recommend the game on sale if you're looking for a quick puzzle game with a retro vibe for a rainy afternoon!
The music slaps and you get that weird ChuChu Rocket! gameplay.
Super Puzzle Blasters at a $5 price point is phenomenal for what it is. You get a puzzle game with graphics akin to Bomber man, but gameplay is laying a path from A to B to deliver some eggs. This is done by laying tiles down to alter the direction of our protagonist, or laying bombs down to create new paths. All of this is done to accumulate coins to buy new characters, music, and more. There is also a multiplayer mode for you and some friends (I don't have any unfortunately 😂😭). Add in a banging soundtrack, and you got yourself a super fun retro puzzler. I definitely recommend Super Puzzle Blasters, especially as I said earlier with that $5 price point. Now the developer really cares about their game here, and has more plans for what they would like to add, including a little bit of lore to build upon this Super Konami manga style. I'd definitely love to see it myself. I did receive a review key for the game, but would happily pay full price for it.
