As much praise and everything as i hear online for this game, I can't recommend it do to the fact that M+K controls are so bad I cant actually do anything without having to immediately start learning how to manually cancel the animations on my attacks so i can still die to enemies. Keep away if you don't have a controller.
I love how the protagonist here has a realistic view of the world and what needs to be done.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I have TRIED with this game, believe me. Great combat system - but getting up to the start of the second act, everyone who isn't Yuri, Flynn, Raven, or Repede are COMPLETELY UNBEARABLE.
Initially a 2008 Xbox 360 game and my introduction to the Tales franchise. Notable for a protagonist that shirks the usual naïve, goody-two-shoes self insert innocence many JRPG main characters show. Initially stilted combat that develops as you go and caters to multiple levels of mastery. The story itself is not memorable, but the characters all are with a slight exception for Patty who was not in the original game and does feel like an added extra for the most part. 100% achievement completion requires far too long and doesn't really add to the fun - the staggering number of obtuse side quests is also excessive but does help to flesh out the world.
Just finished this game and I’m honestly really glad I finally got to the end this time lol. I really enjoyed Vesperia overall. The story was engaging, and even though the visuals look bright and charming, it actually gets pretty dark at times. The characters are very likable. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a protagonist as morally gray as Yuri in an RPG, and honestly, he really impressed me. It made the story feel more grounded and interesting. There are also a lot of side quests. I tried to do as many as I could and still ended up at around 80+ hours before finishing, so there’s definitely plenty of content. My only real complaint is that you can feel its age a bit, especially with the combat. I’m not the biggest fan of holding L2 to free run... it feels a bit clunky at times. Also, I wish there was more epilogue. It wasn’t enough for me, I wanted to see more! Overall though, I’d definitely recommend it to anyone interested in the Tales series. It’s easily one of my favorites, probably up there with Abyss for me.

The definitive edition of my favorite game of all time. Played it back when it was on the xbox 360 and it didn't include Flynn nor Patty. This is the complete version of the game that was only available in the Japanese PS3 version of the game. I'm so terribly excited and happy to play it again, truly one of the most memorable and interesting Tales of games that I have played. Definitely worth a try simply because the amount of gameplay and fun you get from it is almost limitless. I must have passed the story at least 5 or 6 times before. So my review is biased. But if you are looking for an interesting and actually immersive game with a bit of cringe but a whole lot of soul and heart, look no further. I hope anyone who tries it gets to experience the fun and excitement this game offers.
