The definitive edition of my favorite game of all time. Played it back when it was on the xbox 360 and it didn't include Flynn nor Patty. This is the complete version of the game that was only available in the Japanese PS3 version of the game. I'm so terribly excited and happy to play it again, truly one of the most memorable and interesting Tales of games that I have played. Definitely worth a try simply because the amount of gameplay and fun you get from it is almost limitless. I must have passed the story at least 5 or 6 times before. So my review is biased. But if you are looking for an interesting and actually immersive game with a bit of cringe but a whole lot of soul and heart, look no further. I hope anyone who tries it gets to experience the fun and excitement this game offers.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I have TRIED with this game, believe me. Great combat system - but getting up to the start of the second act, everyone who isn't Yuri, Flynn, Raven, or Repede are COMPLETELY UNBEARABLE.
If you can get past the boring and unresponsive combat, it might be fun. I couldn't, so it wasn't.
Please Bring Tales of The Abyss to PC Bandai Namco. Vesperia and Abyss are the 2 Tales Of games on my top list. Love all the characters and their stories.
Shining Fang! Shining Fang Drop! DRAGON!
Okay look, I know this is a very popular entry... but why? The gameplay is bad but that is the case with many of the older titles, so nothing new there. Now, the stories and characters. The characters are nothing special, the standout being Yuri and Flynn. In so far that I get why people like those two so much but... they really aren't anything special. Yuri is also supposed to be a more ruthless/dark Hero compared to other Tales protagonists according to many people but... he isn't. Like, oh no, he kills a few evil as ♥♥♥♥ villains after it has been proven that there is not other way to get rid of them. That is... nothing, other Mc's did more/worse. Now, he is not a bad protagonist and I like him a lot but he is not special compared to other Tales games who tend to have likeable Mc's as well. In total the cast is fine at best (Estelle being on the verge of being annoying) with Yuri being a positive exception. Because he does indeed have quite the bad boy attitude not normal for Tales Of Mc's which is quite fun to see. The Story though is just bad. First off, there are three acts. All three acts are essentially their own story with very loose connections only. That is already bad (the lacking connections part) but the game is also lacking a hook for much of it. Yes, there are other Jrpgs like Trails in the Sky, where you start of doing pretty much random stuff. But those games tend to focus on world building and you get the clear feeling that they are setting up a story, neither of which is the case with Vesperia. Far from being the best game in the series I would call it the worst and I have played most of them, hell I even played ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Tales of Heart r (which is btw way more fun that many people think, the translation just put many people off because it's well... ♥♥♥♥). Edit: I just remembered that Tales of Phantasia exists, which I would call worse but it's also really old so I would say that's unfair (no really, ♥♥♥♥ Arche).
good game, great presentation, but absolutely disgusting port, considering how smooth tales of arise was, this one prob is better off played on its original console
