For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.

About

At the turn of the millennium, the world of Tahnra is headed for a reckoning. The long and bloody conflict of Veridian Succession left the Empire of Veridia scarred, its people subject to brutal hardships. Under the reign of Empress Florina, the vicious cycle seemed to be broken, until a rogue General abducted her from the capital, mustering his own armies and raising the flag of rebellion. You, a young academy graduate, will command an expedition against these forces… a conflict that will set off a chain of events and shake the very foundations of the world.

Probably one of the best games I'll have played all year. Really wish there were a lot more games like this that had each squad being made up of multiple units that you can customise in a lot of ways, it really simulates the feeling of controlling a large army well without cluttering your screen. The story is surprising great for how simple it is and all the characters are memorable with their own personalities even with how little they actually speak. It was a great experience overall where I had fun the entire time, I just wish there was more. Looking forward to the second game coming out that was teased back in 2023.
Its like someone who played Ogre battle March of the Black Queen (Im a huge fan of Ogre Battle too) and they took the bones of that, did a decent job at the art work, and then completely $h!t the bed on the rest. The story is unimaginative, trite, and feels like a copy/paste of every "the empire is the bad guy" story ever written. The characters are extremely two dimensional, they do not grow, and the interactions between the PCs are like a few lines of shallow banter between a group of worn out tropes. The battles are boring and take very little tactics or skill (its mainly about putting the units in with the highest threat rating in a squad and wipe the playing field with like 3 squads). And dont bother grinding any starting characters because every time you go to the merchant and hire a recruit they are always better than anything you have. And the power balance between the main characters is a joke. There are squad leaders like the main archer player character that is even weaker than a no named hireling archer. There are several main story unit leaders I had to join into one squad just so they done get wiped in the first turn by the enemies, and even then I don't use that unit at all. Then you get to chapter 12 and the enemy power scale ramps up 10,000% like is your 15 squads against 30 units for the first wave which are a decent power balance, then the second wave of that battle there are like 50 units that are all shock troops with multiple rows of artillery cannons, long rifles, and a wall of ultimate meat shield units, and charging cavalry. Keep in mind by this point you are only allowed to deploy 15 units max for the entire battle. And if a unit dies you cannot replace them with another unit that is waiting to be deployed at base if you have created more than 15 units. I wish I could get my money back but steams refund policy says no refunds after 2 hours of play. Oh and that's convenient because the first two hours is a boring tutorial filled with exposition of the world, the characters and establishing your main character as the stereotypical "chosen one" which they actually literally say "You are the chosen one". It reads like a fanfic written by a 10 year old with no imagination, seriously an AI that was told a story by a drunken volunteer creative writing teacher at a local library that was court ordered to do community service could create a more engaging and imaginative story.

a VERY fun and enjoyable game with a lot of customizations. Story is alright, music is fine, but the gameplay is absolutely stellar.
Gameplay is amazing. The customizability of your units is unparalleled in any other game. The depth and breath of the system is truely mesmerizing. Unfortunately the writing is really bad. The plot is straightforward and okay. The interpersonal relationships and characters are terrible. Ultimately, a good game, but you will be smashing the skip button through any dialogue.
I came into this game expecting Ogre Battle. It really isn't that. It does not scratch that itch. Yet despite some people comparing and contrasting them, it isn't really quite like Fire Emblem or even Advance Wars in any meaningful way either by my estimation. It is, all things considered, something of a unique or, at least to me, novel experience within the realm of SRPGs. I can't say that it necessarily does anything I haven't seen before - indeed all of the component parts feel familiar - yet the specific way in which it all comes together feels a bit special. I cleared the main story and I mostly had a good time. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it to literally anybody who enjoys SRPGs? Not without caveats. But I DO recommend it, especially if you can pick it up on sale, as I did. I'm writing this review right after watching the credits roll, and so, in some ways, I haven't had enough time to sit with my thoughts on the game to make a deep dive into it and really deconstruct all of the successes and shortcomings within, but I can try to make a short list of the things that may hamper enjoyment for some people. Firstly, the menuing is sticky, for lack of a better word. Perhaps I have been spoiled by the best of the best when it comes to slick, buttery smooth menuing, but regardless of why, I found myself needing to slow down and reattempt the inputs I actually intended many times. Your mileage may vary, but unintuitive action orders plus a slight delay make actually controlling the game stick out as a sour spot in my mind. Next, the lack of meaningful growth in the relationships between characters. If you are a fan of supports in Fire Emblem, be aware that, while there are conversations between characters and romances can bloom on the battlefield, they will often leave you feeling like you missed something. It's as if you've skipped straight to the A or S ranks without having seen the two characters interact even once in some especially egregious cases. Finally, I have some minor grips with the way the artifact system works. They largely feel as if they should be defining the entire playstyle of your squads, but such an overwhelmingly large number of them are very low impact. Then there's the issue of balance on the higher end. Some of the artifacts are straight up overpowered, while others, notably several of the legendary artifacts, feel just as underwhelming as any of their lower tier counterparts. I cannot speak to the vision the developers had for this system and how much sway it ought to have over the power of the squads, but I would personally argue that the artifacts alone need a huge balance overhaul. I would like the unique effects of legendaries, also, to not feel completely undercut by negative traits in a few cases. All of that aside, I found this game thoroughly enjoyable, even if it took me a few weeks to plod through. Take breaks when the rough edges chafe, and I suspect you will find the game a pleasant and worthwhile experience as well. It isn't a masterclass, but most games aren't. Give it a shot and you may be surprised to find yourself with an unexpected personal favourite of the modern SRPG genre. I know I have, and am tentatively excited to see what the team does next. With any luck, I'll be traveling to the east with my beloved Diana soon enough.
The game was great up until Chapter 17, I uninstalled the game and have come back to it months later. It is still the same, it's overly difficult, forced to sacrifice minimum 1 unit to ensure your good units and characters survive, then you need to pull both switches and make it to the portal in the middle...which guess what, BUGS OUT. Literally wiped so many times, so many resets on this stupid mission only for it to bug multiple times when reaching the portal with Diana, stepping on and off, ending turn without waiting, nothing works, before the OP villain arrives and black hole void attack wipes your units. Such huge potential destroyed by terrible level design.
Dear devs, in case you need help with translation - contact me =)
