Stronghold 3 Gold

Stronghold 3 is basically Stronghold 2 with upgraded graphics, free build where you can rotate buildings however you want and place them wherever you want, day and night cycles that change the whole battlefield of the game with the "fog of war" effect BUT downgraded perfomance that crashes the game alot, has tons of stupid restrictions and annoyances when building stuff cuz all the "hitboxes" of buildings are masive so you cant build tiny but have to spread out alot, annyoing random events that happen every few seconds, tiny maps, clunky combat controls that dont work from time to time and random bugs such as: water buffalo not working, woodcutters not finding wood when its right infront of their nose, war dogs not attacking, uneven land to build even though there is nothing there and is as flat as an ironing board..... The biggest let down is that it doesnt have any custom skirmishes, bots to play against and thats a HUGE minus. Overall 3/10 just cuz of the first few good things i said and these should be present in every stronghold game especially the day and night cycle.

This game really wants to be a more traditional Stronghold game that acts as a Sequel to the first Stronghold game; the gameplay is sort of a compromise that lands between Crusader, the original Stronghold, and the more complex and econimcially expansive Stronghold 2; but as with any 3D stronghold game to-date, it's incredibly buggy and doesn't work nearly as well as the prettier isometric 2D stronghold games. I would say, even if you like Stronghold Legends, Stronghold 2, Strongold Crusader 2; this game is probably still not going to appeal to you since it was left in a buggy and incomplete state.

Shame on you Firefly Studios for destroying most loved game.

Sadly i cannot recommend this game. Often had crashes or random things just glitched out. Story itself as far as i could play was decent but during 1 night mission permanently crashed and i had to play it through with every 5 minute saves (after that did not have crash). As a fan of this franchies i was dissapointed by the bugs and glitches but atleast positives were the story seemed good.

Dark ages of Stronghold series...

still looks good in 2022, cant wait for SH Unreal!!!

The game is unfinished. It is playable but overall quality is just not there.
