About
The city burns and bleeds as it suffers the madness of King Louis XVI and his violent legions of automatons. Aegis, a mechanical masterpiece created by the engineer Vaucanson to be the queen's bodyguard, must save the French Revolution in this challenging action-RPG.
Up against the king's mechanical soldiers, deadly accuracy will be needed. String together dodges, parries, jumps and devastating attacks to fight your way through Paris. Every fight will test your nerve and requires excellent discipline, while the huge relentless machine bosses demand patience and skill.
Define your own style and upgrade your abilities as you progress through the game. You can play as a ruthless warrior, a hard-hitting bodyguard, a deadly dancer or a virtuoso of the elemental arts. Take advantage of a wide variety of weapons and skills to approach each fight in your own unique way.
Using carriages, grapples, secret passages, a detailed map, and other methods and tools you find along the way, explore a city experiencing its darkest days. Your grappling hook adds a new dimension to exploration and Paris's verticality. Combined with your dash ability, it will provide access to all the city's secrets across multiple levels you can explore over and over again.
You are one of the main characters of an alternative history where Paris is being choked by a tyrant king. Allies and enemies with unclear motives will cross your path, such as Marie-Antoinette, Lafayette and Robespierre. It's up to you to cut a path through all the plotting and put an end to one man's madness so that the French Revolution succeeds.

buenisimo
After playing Elden Ring. Rise of P. Wukong then start on this. This is not bad!
At the time of writing this, I've still never bothered to finish a Souls game, even though I enjoy them. For whatever reason, I managed to play this all the way through. I enjoyed the combat, though sometimes a little clunky. The weapons are fun and creative, and the idea of having counter-attacks and shields exclusive to so few weapons, while other weapons have alternative abilities, made the game feel less like being on the defensive and more like it was about finding the right moments to strike and stagger the enemy. In addition to all that, the story is straightforward in a way that's entertaining, and though the facial animations could have used polish, the plot, voice-acting, and idea of haywire clock-work robots during the French Revolution is all a great combination. In my run, I focused on increasing critical hit chances and immobilizing my enemies with damage to their stamina-substitute, allowing me to regain health and my own stamina quite easily and frequently, especially with modules that made those easier and restored health when landing critical strikes. Most of the bosses are rather easy, but they're not without their challenges. Playing as the protag strikes a good balance between feeling fragile and feeling powerful. There's not a lot of enemy variety so it becomes pretty easy to handle each enemy since they're all so familiar after a point. I liked going back and exploring areas after getting abilities to break down fragile walls or grapple to areas, and using those same abilities in battle helped gain an edge. It's a shape that SPIDERS is gone, but at least they gave us some fun AA games like this.
