I love "real" roguelikes, and this scratches that itch. It's a great coffee-break game, and I've had no problems with savefiles corrupting. Well worth a try for the price. (I admit, I'd resigned myself to it not being played, as I could NOT get it to run on the laptop I had when I bought it, but after noticing an update that claimed to fix a lot of crashes I tried it again -- and voila!)
Really cool game! I've played it for the last about 6 months, back when it was still in beta and such. It has it's crashes but the Dev is like super friendly over discord. It has a bit of a learning curve. No hand holding here, but it's never unfair in my opinion. Must have if you want good classic roguelike fun!
Cool little game!
To be honest, not much of a fan, but it seems to work, has a thriving a community and the creator still seems to be around. Just a very basic dungeon crawl, rather confusing, but lots of guides for those willing to put in the effort. Graphics are basic, music is simple, controls are okay. Cheap though, so there is that. ADDENDUM: it has been awhile since I have played this, but I am regularly getting updates and patch notices, it is clear the designer really cares about this game. That has to be a selling point, especially with so many games being abandoned.
Yet another unfinished and buggy abandonware game being sold on Steam that I can't get refunded for, the shocking thing is that this is also being sold on the Switch. I wonder if the Switch version is up to date or something because I can't imagine this ♥♥♥♥ getting past Nintendo's QA. Let it be known: This is the title that made me give up wanting to support indie game devs because of how disgustingly incomplete it is after 3 years. I am not talking about devoid of content (which it is) but the fact that the developer can't even be bothered to fix known issues such as the fact the elemental defenses are represented by ... numbers. Three years ago the developer said "I'll fix it right away!" to someone complaining about it. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ numbers man? What?
without the crashes it's a pretty darn fun roguelike with some really neat unique mechanics. (doesn't seem to have much replayability though)
I totally adore this game, but the crashes! Still very painful, even after the various updates. I don't mind having paid for this game, even if I may end up shelving it, because it has the potential to become unplayable. I'd just consider the payment a charitable donation to the devs. They deserve it, regardless. This is a super fun little game. I can see myself putting in over 100 hours into it. I grew up on ASCII rpgs. I said, ASCII, y'all. Haha. This game scratches that itch for me. I really do love it, but the crashes coupled with the current save mechanism makes for some very painful experiences. I hope the devs will at least consider making the save stone multi-use, instead of one-use, so that if the game crashes, and let's be real, it very likely will at some point, at least when you load up the game, you can start from your last save AND resave just to lock that shiz in anticipation of another unexpected crash. Last night, I made it to Floor 8 and was super stoked. My mage is OP. Stone cold killer. Haha. Did the save stone at Floor 9. Several baddies spazzed out (they all brooded at the same time?) and the game froze. My jaw dropped. I restarted and thankfully, my Floor 9 save was still there, but now if I load up and keep going and there's another crash, then it's game over, man. Game over, because that last save gets deleted. I'll have to painstakingly pick my way through another two dozen plus floors to get back to where I was. Painful beyond belief. So, please please please provide a more forgiving save system to compensate for the crashes or, if at all possible, maybe release some more updates addressing the (1) multiple baddies take their turn at the same time crash and (2) more than two status effects at one time crash. Those are the bugs I've encountered thus far. Thanks for creating this amazing game! Time to load up that save and cross my fingers! UPDATE 4/5/20: Yeahhhh, it crashed on Floor 8 while I was spamming the wait button. Soooooo..... time to play something else for awhile.
