This game is one of my top 5 of all time. It may be repetitive at times, but the action of choosing people to join your community with different strengths and weaknesses makes it feel like a new game every time you start over.

You rotate between survivors to complete task, gather supplies, or wipe out hordes of zombies. There are guns, melee weapons, throwable items, and more. Depending on your skill and comfort level, there is a challenge for everyone. There are a few maps but each one offers different bases and resources. I played this mostly of a steam deck and rather enjoyed it. I only encountered a handful of bugs. There is a small community that is active if you want to do multiplayer. I recommend this game overall.
