The dead have risen and civilization has fallen. Now it's up to you to gather survivors, scavenge for resources and build a community in a post-apocalyptic world – a world where you define what it means to survive in this ultimate zombie survival simulation.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 13.29/day in the week to Sep 1 → 21.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; Xbox, Epic publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 16: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I'm getting too old for this clunky ♥♥♥♥.
State of Decay 2 is a zombie apocalypse game. But the real horror here is Microsoft forcing you to log into Xbox Live just to play a game where you're supposedly able to play single player only. You read that right: even when looking strictly for a a SINGLE-PLAYER GAME experience, it requires a constant internet connection and an active Xbox Live account, because god forbid you enjoy a moment of your one wild and precious life without a tech conglomerate confirming you're still a paying customer. This isn't game design, it's a leash with a controller attached, and the fact that they built an entire zombie survival simulator around "always-online DRM masquerading as a feature" tells you everything you need to know about who they think you are: not a player, data mine node with thumbs. Refund requested. I honestly thought the "Requires 3rd-Party Account: Xbox Live" bit only applied to multiplayer. It applies to single player, too.
Micropsoft has done everything they can do make multiplayer impossible. ♥♥♥♥ microsoft, never support them. They ruin everything they touch. Don't buy this game. Microsoft ruined it.
Au top
I really like the game, since the first one. But one friend of mine bought the game so we could play Multiplayer, and he can't connect to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Microsoft servers no mather what we try. It's a shame having to depend on only one way to play the game, that doesn't work.
Enter Side-Mission to kill human NPCs Said Human NPCs refuse to die no matter how many headshots they take or pummels on the ground. Restart game. Clears bug, but lose a precious Teammate because the game resets you right back to the spot with less ammo and he was swarmed to death. Quit. There is no excuse for how buggy and glitchy this game is. On top of that, the way it handles 'difficulty' is artificial BS at its most egregious! Spawning an undead horde (and some freaks) out of nowhere is NOT good game design, it's just cheap dopamine satiating BS!! And it wrecks your progress because you'll be preparing for a mission, but than suddenly two ferals, a juggernaut, and an undead horde appear out of nowhere, and if you do survive that attack, you'll need to reload and heal up and hope to God, the game doesn't do it again...it'll do it again! Instead of throwing 'Curveballs' at me, and admitting that your game design sucks hard, how about you FIX THE GAME UNDEAD LABS!! To make it worse, the AI is terrible and hardly does anything other than wait on you. And the world wears out its welcome quickly when it just resets itself to where the same zombies you killed and same fences you broke 'magically' return to place. It all feels like an infinite engagement loop where progression feels hollow, and the tedium sets in fast. This is a full-priced sequel, yet it doesn't feel like it improved much at all with the original game.
