Reviews
Can't speak for the game at launch but now its pretty good cant lie they cooked.
Outlaws is a good game, some aspects are even brilliant. If you love Star Wars, this game oozes the Atmosthere of the old movies. It does not reinvent the wheel, it is not as polished as Uncharted, but it is good fun and never overstayes its welcome. If you have the right GPU it will also just be a reference for natural lighting in games. Comparable maybe to a CP2077 with full pathtracing. I will start off with the things that could have been better: - Kay Vess: Yes, the main character could have been better. Her Background is not bad, but feels very standard. Also I really did not fully feel the character development that the main story wants me to believe in. Regarding her style, i also felt the 80s-90s style was a little too much. She looked like she fell out of stranger things. -Movement: the movement can be a little tricky. I had multiple problems here. The promt to interact requires the player to stand not directly in front of it. Also, it is not always clear on how far Kay can jump. The Positive: - The World: I loved the world. It felt like it delivered everything I wanted. Multiple locations, very different biomes, architacture and creatures. - Space: I did not expect this, but the Space is quite fun. Fighting, exploring and jumping between planets was much better than expected. It is not groundbreaking by any means, but it breaks up the gameplay loop and stays refreshing throughout the game. - Sound: The sound in this game is just, pun intended, out of this world. I think the game uses raytracing for sound. Sounds mute, when you close a door or become more and more faint when you walt away. It bounces in sterile indoor environments or echoes in caves. It is comparable to Battlefield. - Graphics: Honestly, this is only true for really big GPUs. If you have one and you can enable full Raytracing and Ray Reconstruction, the game is just on another level. Materials look superb and you can see the world reflecting in the eyes of KAy or other NPCs. All lights trace shadows and you can even push LODs so far out that you hardly see pop in. Great job by the Massive team for this achievement.
its fun wish star wars made more open world games
I tried playing it and glad it was on offer because I missed out on refund time so even tried to continue. Its just really boring. PROs CONs On offer cheap Really boring
the engin they used for this was trash
Great fun. Hope there'll be a sequel or more DLC for this great game.
The story is decent, but nothing special. The environments are the real highlight—they really make it feel like you're exploring a living Star Wars world. Keyboard and mouse controls can feel a bit clunky at times, and the optimization could definitely be better. Overall, it's a fun experience, especially if you're a Star Wars fan.
This game is huge. I am only a little into the story so far, but there are speeder bike chases, space battles, stealth mechanics, and a good immersive story. I highly recommend this game.
Good story line, vfx and overall experience so far.
Get it on sale, and the pass (adds a few extra hours of content, not a lot and not worth the full price). Ubi Connect is the biggest problem in my experience. I’ll speak on the base game, as I’m still working on finishing the DLC. The warning I will include is the intro is somewhat long, and you need to finish the 2-3 hours before you can save. It autosaves, but I recommend finishing it to get a hard save. I think if you are used to and don’t mind Ubi-coded games, you’ll enjoy it. Some of the biomes feel a bit empty, not along Starfield levels, but you do have to travel as it feels like a speeder bike sim more. I only experienced a bug for a mission for a voice line trigger and had to reload a save once. Story didn’t feel like a total slog, I was invested. And the one complaint I have, is that the reputation system is good in concept, but impacts minimal to the game depending on how you play – Syndicate territories, contracts, prices – but you can fix it by selling intel easily, and I stopped doing contracts midway though. And Sabacc was fun. Even if you cheat or not, I had so much fun with it trying to games to figure out the best strats. I really zoned out into poker mode and while some tables were easy, there was a challenge to want to win (rewards aside).
