I love Garfield, and my expectation going into this game was not high. However, I was not expecting so many issues in this game. When hitting a wall or obstacle, the punishment is brutal. Your character's kart completely stops, sometimes you get stuck in the ground\wall and you have to pray the game detects you are stuck in order to respawn on the track. I would not have such an issue with this if this game displayed a mini map of the tracks while you are racing, so the players know when to turn. Other than that, it is so difficult to catch up to the lead if you are in the back. You are currently in 5th and its lap 2? You'll be lucky to get 3rd if you get the right items. The cherry on top is when you hit an item box, the game has a chance of not giving you an item! How awesome! If you still want to enjoy this inFURiating game, wait till the game is on sale like I did. It's cute, the tracks could be a little more diverse, but overall its a game that is somewhat enjoyable with friends.

Whether you're playing solo or with friends, it's easy to have a good time. That said, the drifting mechanic is the game's weakest point. It often feels imprecise and lacks the responsiveness you'd expect from a kart racer, making it harder than it should be to maintain speed through corners or chain together satisfying boosts. Moreover theres no indication whether or not you have a high enough speed to start a drift leaving much room for error. With a more polished drifting system, the gameplay would feel much smoother and more rewarding. Even with that flaw, Garfield Kart: Furious Racing is an enjoyable racer with plenty of personality. If you're a real Garfield fan like me or simply looking for a casual racing game, it's well worth checking out.
