Loved this game since i was a kid. Its great to play it again.

truly a great game. i beg and pray every day that this will get remade one day.....theres no trek game truly as cool as this!

Aged control system and graphics dont detract from what is a fantastic story with meaningful choices. Highly recommended.

+ The story is interesting and well written. I wish games today had such deep thought put into stories as this game does. + The missions are mostly fun, if slightly repetitive (all of them are combat-heavy) + The FMV is well directed and the CG was great for the time (the acting though is sometimes a little cheesy) + Developing your character and crew's personalities and "scores" over the course of the game via decisions during FMV is brilliant and great fun. If a game did this today in 2022 reviewers would call it revolutionary. + Having Walter Koenig, George Takei, and William Shatner really make the story/FMV even more engaging. + The ship UI is great, it models all the stations of the ships with functions that make sense and gel together. + This game actually has a secret final mission that is pretty awesome. Imagine my amazement when replaying in 2022 while following a guide, I discover that if you do all of the dozens of decisions absolutely perfectly throughout the game you're treated to a bonus mission where you get to command the Enterprise. It's kind of crazy all the extra FMV and voice dialogue they recorded for a mission that 99.9% of players probably never saw or even knew existed. - The biggest downside of this game are that its quite buggy. I had multiple CTDs playing. - A few of the missions are also extremely finicky where you can fail by bad luck or poorly explained conditions rather than anything else. Eg, fighting an enemy around a starbase and accidentally hit it once? You'll fail the mission, but won't know until 20 minutes later when you complete all the other objectives first. - The combat itself in this game is also ok, not great. The game was rightly criticized upon release of feeling like you're flying a fighter ship rather than a huge starship and I think that's accurate. - Related to above, fights against cloaked ships are just tedious and not at all fun as the ships cloak so often that you're essentially flailing around in space, hoping to get a few shots in before they cloak again. And even if you do manage to get a few shots in, they've probably repaired the damage by the time they next decloak. I found the best way to actually win these fights in less than a millennium was to actually ram my ship into theirs which causes massive damage to both ships. Regardless, for any Star Trek fan this game is definitely worth playing for the FMV alone. I strongly recommend following Navrin's "Complete Walkthrough" guide on Steam. Following it to the letter is realistically the only way you'll ever see the bonus mission. Games were so much more innovative in the 90s.

Once you customize the controls, it's a lot of fun to play! Very immersive and who doesn't love the monster maroon era of Trek?!
