Played this game for hours back in the days. So, i want to try it again. The graphics are like in 1996, so if you only like 4k graphics, you don't want to play this game. The game also has lot's of issues, speed isn't good and the bug when you kill something is irritating. The game works on dosbox, but this come with new bugs. It's impossible to change the weapons, it's an old issue, but i can't find a way to solve this. So, no, don't buy this game.
Shattered Steel is a very good sci-fi shooting game. Pros: +Cinematic animations. +Graphical user interface. +Custom mapping. It also supports many input devices. +Use drag and drop feature to add weapons and equipment. +3D maps and mission briefing. +A small database of combat and civilian units. +Fierce battles and challenging missions. +Special events. Cons: -The game manual is a simple and crude summary. It doesn't explain the most important parts of single player mode. This manual only suggests you to read "online manual" for detailed information. However, the online manual does not existed anymore.
Excelent DOS Game, If you was born in 90's You know what I saying
I haven't played this game since 1996, but now that its on steam if its possible it could use alot of updating, because there is some problems that I am having.
looked like a cool game for its age but the main problem is the control, the mouse y axis is inverted with no way to switch it. also the frame rate was rather low but that might just be me not knowing dosbox to well recommended if you can fix the framerate and dont mind the mouse, otherwise no
The origins of BioWare - that alone makes it worth it <3
TOO OUTDATED WITH BROKEN CONTROLS CANT SEE WHERE IM GOING. WSD IS USELESS AND WAS LIED TO ON THE MENU AND THE MENU IS LAGGY
wuhdya thinkin im walkin 'ere
First discovered this game when I was interested in purchasing MechWarrior 2 back in 1996. So after looking at the screenshots, seeing there were destructible environments(yes!), and the cool box art I rolled the dice on this game. It was a really cool game for it's time. I actually enjoyed it until games like MechWarrior 3, Starsiege, and Heavy Gear 2 came out. This game quickly became dated. It had decent video footage, good graphics, and decent gameplay for it's time. It hasn't aged well. And controller compatibility isn't good through DoxBox either. No more playing on a flightstck. I do find it really cool that the team who created this game would go on to create some of the greatest RPG's ever made. Too bad this game didn't do well and have sequels. I believe it could have been a really good competitor along with the Earthsiege series. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy this game enough to get back into it like I have with MechWarrior and Earthsiege games. 6/10. I would have ranked this much higher before the mech genre really reached it's high in the late 90's. The standards of mech games exploded beyond what this game offered. But I feel it was influencial in what would become of better mech games.
