Old timers will know this game well but i think younger ones should play it too as this game was something of a 'ultimate 3D flying action' -thing back then and i blame this game's awesomeness in particular for the reason why we got so many garbage 3D 'action-something' games after this one. Too many thought this awesomeness is now standard. (sound familiar in 2023?) And even the multiplayer was incredible with a modem/serial cable or whatever we used to link up with lot of effort. Little did we know that this one was one of the very few good ones in this niche and we would be flooded with sub-par 3D garbage that continued well past beyond the early GPU's with 3dfx/Voodo2 etc. For young eyes (or those with too much nostalgia in them) may need bleach as the resolutions and graphics have aged but the game play mechanics and action has not aged a day so once you get past that eye swelling there is still a good game here. So grab your mouse, put your other hand on the A-Z keys and boost and off you go. That's all you really need to get going. Get out there and wreck some s**t! ...And you will soon realize why this game was the thing a long time ago. There was nothing like it before in 3D and it would take a long time afterwards before something even close to this cool OR well designed & playable came along.
Properly ported for modern systems – that's all this Boosted Edition is. And you know what, that's totally fine!
This is a fairly simple re-release of a thirty-year-old game that offers little more than allowing you to play it on modern systems without DOSBox.
They made it run great on modern hardware, but it just doesn't feel the same without my Sidewinder joystick. Still love it though.
Excellent nostalgia trip. The game works flawlessly in win 10, and the game itself is still playable for todays standards. Simple and fun.
Plays just like it did in the 90's. Not analogue friendly gamepad support though, strictly buttons only. No major enhancements, just 90's gameplay with a challange.
It's great to have this classic game back on modern platforms!!
Played this game a lot back in the day, one of the earlier full polygonal and texture mapped 3D games. This is a pretty faithful port... and that means pixels the size of your fist, geometry that pops and has cracks into the void in it, textures that stretch, warp and glitch, AI that is dumber than a doorstop and default controls that are counter-intuitive. ... switch up and down and you'll probably be a lot happier. Yeah it's old and they did very little to fix any of it. And I'm fine with that, I wouldn't have it any other way. This is the way Terminal Velocity is supposed to be. Repetitive, weird and against all logic - lots of fun. Recommended, but only if you're into very old DOS games.
Terminal Velocity without multiplayer mode.
classic game that brings me back to the early 90's using a joystick shooting 2-5 poly ships thinking they looked so real
