About
Space Engineers 2 is currently a Playable Alpha In Active Development and already lets you begin building, surviving, and colonizing the Almagest System.
You arrive in the distant Almagest System on humanity’s first large-scale colonization mission. Your ship is damaged on entry, your tools are basic, and the planets below are beautiful but unforgiving. From here, everything you build is up to you.
Explore planets, moons, asteroid rings, and dense clusters. Mine resources, construct bases and starships, complete contracts, discover Datapads, trade, expand into new sectors, and push the frontier forward alone now, and later together with friends as co-op and large-scale multiplayer arrive over the course of Early Access.
Space Engineers 2 takes everything we have learned over the past 10 years and reimagines the space engineering experience with more depth, precision, and creative freedom than ever before. Powered by our new VRAGE3 engine, creation and destruction feel better than ever.
Build ships, stations, bases, and machines. Mine asteroids, reshape terrain, carve tunnels, damage structures, and experiment in a fully destructible sandbox where engineering decisions matter.
Whether you are a veteran Space Engineer or new to the series, Space Engineers 2 gives you a growing sandbox where your creativity can shine while the game continues expanding through Early Access.
Explore the next generation of construction with the 25 cm Unified Grid System. No more large-grid vs small-grid separation: blocks fit together seamlessly, making it easier to create detailed and functional builds.
Mounting point visualization, grid lines, improved controls, and more intuitive building tools help you design, adjust, and refine your creations with greater precision.
Space Engineers 2 introduces major building improvements such as Grid Undo, copy/paste, symmetry, blueprints, Projection Building, Backpack Building, Area Welding, refined CTRL controls, and improved rotation and zoom.
These tools are designed to make engineering smoother for both newcomers and experienced players, while preserving the depth and creativity that define Space Engineers.
Take your creations to new speeds with upgraded max velocity: characters up to 310 m/s and grids up to 300 m/s. Magboots and automatic jetpack activation help you stay in control while building, exploring, and moving around large constructions, platforms, ships, and asteroids.
Mechanical systems are also expanding. Rotors and Pistons are already available in the current Alpha, with wheels, hinges, warheads, and additional engineering systems planned for future updates.
We redesigned UI/UX to make building smoother and more intuitive for both newcomers and pros, giving more freedom to bring your intricate ideas to life. VRAGE3 is being optimized throughout Early Access; performance can vary by hardware, world size, and build complexity. As Early Access progresses, you’ll be able to build bigger ships, fly more of them, and enjoy epic destruction in a truly immersive ride.
The current Alpha already includes a real sandbox survival experience. Manage power, oxygen, hydrogen, and health. Mine resources, process materials, manufacture components, build production chains, complete contracts, earn credits, discover Datapads, and begin expanding colonization across the Almagest System.
These systems are playable today, but still growing. Long-term survival progression, deeper colonization, richer economy and contracts, NPCs, campaign content, co-op, multiplayer, and many additional systems will continue arriving during Early Access.
Enjoy the beauty of space, industrial designs, planetary landscapes, and destructive engineering with next-level realism. Space Engineers 2 introduces ray-traced global illumination, realistic shadows, a new skybox, tessellated voxel materials, parallax effects for armor, volumetric clouds, and many other visual improvements that bring depth and realism to every scene.
Bring your ideas to life and share your Blueprints and Worlds with the community through Steam Workshop integration. Explore a growing collection of creations from other players, find inspiration, and discover new engineering challenges.
Space Engineers 2 also supports advanced modding through the VRAGE3 Mod HUB and Mod Editor tools, giving creators more ways to shape the future of the game.

The bad: Putting an early access game on sale is not a good look. No DLSS! only FSR. VSYNC = 60fps cap. Even though im getting +180fps, the camera motion feel like its running at 45fps. AA sucks, doesn't help that there's no DLAA. Advanced video settings are still pretty basic. Updates take a long time and dont feel that full. Anticipated multiplayer will only be 4 player client hosted coop. The good. Dev blogs are amazing, I always like reading them. Menu screenshots/artwoork look really cool. The terrain, atmosphere and ambience is really cool. update trailer videos are awesome. I had hoped that they would get the nvidia technology by now. it seems like a basic thing now days.
I bought this after watching some YT videos praising the game, saying it's already got most of the stuff from the original game. And don't get me all wrong here, I'm positive that this game will eventually be even better than the original one, but right now, boy am I disappointed. In terms of amount of different blocks, etc. it's really getting on-par with the original game, but the devil is in the details; You can build a nice looking ship, station, rover or whatever, but you can't fine-tune things in the control panel as you used to. Most of the options for different types of blocks/components are simply missing. For example you can't reverse wheel drive direction or adjust their height. Also, if you're into building contraptions that use hinges, rotors or pistons, I have bad news for you. Everything that's on the other end of that hinge/piston/rotor will be a separate grid, which you can not control simultaneously with the "main grid". You can't even group components that are in "separate grids". TLDR; Looks nice, but lacks huge amounts of detail and actual function that the original game had. Don't buy in the current state if you expect to recreate anything you had in SE1.
Save world before loading writes over the save to be loaded resualting in loading straight back to the point you attempted to load from. This is beyond stupidity, how the hell this made it into the game to begin with is beyond me.
Игра ещё в раннем доступе, а они уже выпускают DLC
I understand the game is EA but that does not give the game a free pass from criticism. This is a game that is being sold on the store so just like anything I purchase I have expectations. So I picked this up after the 2.3 update. It's starting to look like a playable game now so I wanted to check it out as I have thousands of hours in SE1. While the bones of the game are better the game itself has got a lot of issues. Some of these bugs are familiar to those of early SE1. I like the unified grid building which makes things look and feel much better. It was an interesting choice to let the player build basic stuff from raw resources. The new crafting system is fine as well where you combine components into better high tech components. I also like mining better when it works correctly not having to deal with loose rocks is much better then SE1. The bugs and progression is the biggest point of contention in the current build 2.3. I started out with classic survival and just ran into a bunch of road blocks. Power was the first major issue I ran into starting with solar panels not working correctly. With six panels on my starter ship facing the exact same direction some panels would work while others did not. Phantom forces are a major problem right now in the game. Good luck carrying a smaller ship on your large ship. Also exiting a craft often causes your player to drift until you toggle dampening on and off. And sub-grids are just flat out broken right now. Making a craft with a rotating drill is not possible right now. Speaking of drills if you put more then one on your ship they bottleneck and become nearly impossible to mine. Often the drills just outright stop making progress. They really need to let event controllers do more then one thing. Having to place ten or more of them on your craft is excessive. Keen needs to let one do everything or at least ten things. I'm not sure I like the new consumable suit system for power / Hydrogen / Oxygen. I feel these items should be rechargeable like SE1 and not consumed. The game needs more time in the development oven. I do not feel this game is at that good enough to play condition. So for now I'm going to put this in the not recommended category however I will change this if things improve.
This game is so buggy that it’s unplayable. I spent about 6 hours building a spaceship for it to not work due to a bug. When you create H2 gas for fuel from a machine on your space craft that uses ice, the game sometimes will just consume the ice without creating H2. Long story short, I had to delete the whole ship to get the machine to work this happened two times till it worked the third time. The forth spacecraft that I built is refusing to work at all for an unknown reason, everything was working but didn’t move. I exited the game and came back in well it did something because now not even the animations of the rockets working. What a waste of my time and money, I wish I could get a refund but I’m 25 hours in.
start survival map do first mission - recover that book second mission - gather 6000 ores by hand?? -ok try use ship to store ore - too heavy? -ok make more thrusters - what? have to grind bits to reposition them? - ok ship out of battery - how do you recharge? turn 180 degrees and you're suddenly rolled by 10 deg? do another 180 and you're rolleld even more? my q and e buttons are already fading. if you have to google every single mechanic in the first 2 hours, it's not a good game. call me noob all you want but trailmakers and terratrech do not have these problems.
Can't even start a Survival, Quick Survival, Classic Survival or Creative game, it consistently crashes while trying to load. Game is... unstartable. No workarounds or fixes works, if it ever becomes literally playable this review may change but for now, this is refunded.
I really want to love this game, but in its current state, I cannot. It's an amazing game, an improvement over its predacessor at this point, but there is one MAJOR glaring issue that keeps me from playing it. That being, preformance. This game is super, super preformance heavy, now if you have better hardware than me, then please, disregard this, but this is for those low-end optimists, IT WILL NOT RUN BELOW THIS BARRIER, it does NOT run anything above low with my setup.
I do not know what this games problem is but my PC with AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor(4.70 GHz) and an RTX 5070 Ti gets a doesn't meet minimum reqs message... I run everything I play maxed out no issues and this garbage won't even load into a world.
