Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is my second attempt to finish this game (the first one was back at launch on PS5). Since release they added some important QoL updates, but the core problems are still exactly the same. This time I only managed to push a bit further before dropping it again. The game was made by the team behind Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE. Funny thing is, aside from QoL and the story, Soul Hackers 2 is worse than Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE in pretty much every way. And it’s not like the story in Soul Hackers 2 is actually good – it’s just less bad than the one in Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE. The main issue with Soul Hackers 2 is the low budget and the fact that the game doesn’t even try to hide it. The dungeons are absolutely awful and repetitive, and the Soul Matrix (the character story dungeon) is even more boring and samey. Progression feels weak, and the whole game feels stripped down compared to most other Megami Tensei titles. Honestly, it’s probably one of the weakest entries in the entire series.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

This might be mid compared to the Persona Games, but damn if it's not a good mid. The story is good, the writing is great, and the gameplay is pretty much you would expect from ATLUS. Yeah, the Soul Matrix is long and boring at points, but they added the dash button so you can dash whenever you want, so it's not as bad anymore. Pick this up during a sale, you'll not regret this!

I love this game. Is it a masterpiece to be revered? H e l l no. It's a 7/10, with the most optimistic mindset. But it hits a ton of the right notes for me to like it: great soundtrack, solid story, distinct as heck visuals, and mindful (but not balls-hard) turn-based combat. It's a JRPG for JRPG fans of a very specific niche, but for that niche, it's really terrific. The DLC isn't really worth it, in case you're wondering. The story DLC is substantial story-wise, but not really necessary, and kind of a drag gameplay-wise.
Much inferior to its predecessor, overall it is a very mediocre game compared even to the old SMT games. With an ideal duration. It features interesting mechanics, although they are not well explored. Most of the characters are flashy but lack charisma. The combat mechanics are indeed good and simple. The game has a serious design flaw when it comes to presenting its mechanics to the player, which can result in players spending hours before discovering basic resources. The soundtrack is not bad but forgettable. The game's side content is poor, leaving the focus solely on the story. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it for two reasons: first, it’s much better to buy one of the last three Persona games, or SMT V, and if you have access, play SMT IV rather than this game. The second reason is the price, which is high for what the game delivers, even when on sale.
I love this game so much. It has such a great story, and despite its flaws, theres something about Soul Hackers 2 that will struck with me for the rest of my life. To be honest, I think SH2 is weaker than the original game from the series. When compared to other newgen Shin Megami Tensei titles the gameplay mechanics feel pretty basic. The gameplay mechanics feel like they havent really changed since the original SH release in 1997, or at least the DS port. However I think the simplicity makes it more challenging and fun. The Soul Matrix dungeons in particular can feel empty and lifeless, although I wonder if that was intentional. Considering the themes of the game, that emptiness almost feels appropriate. The UI isnt as impressive or stylish as what ive seen in some of Atlus newer games. It lacks the same level of polish and personality that games like Persona 5 or Metaphor Refantazio. What makes SH2 really special to me is its story and the themes it explores. The game deals heavily with life, death and human connections. And then theres Ringo (protagonist) and Figue. Shes easily one of my fav protagonists in the SMT series. Even though shes an AI, she actually feels like a real character with personality. Totally worth playing! Wish it was longer...
Soul Hackers 2

So crunchy... I found a lot here that I see myself missing in other Atlus RPGs. Although it doesn't stand out much, the condensed scope as a whole was quite refreshing. We need flashy, easygoing and shorter RPGs like we need air conditioning (I was stuck without AC for a week, don't squint).
Soul Hackers 2 is a difficult game to rank. It had a LOT and I mean A LOT of potential. When it came out I was pretty hyped though when I heard the reviews saying it was mediocre at best I waited until I finally played it. So with that in mind, I'm reviewing the most recent version of this game which unlike the on-release one, had a dash button and it wasn't a skill on Milady (Assassin Steps). This is a short but sweet game, I wasn't digging the Demon Co-Op-like system akin to Strange Journey (aka Sabbath) but in the end I ended up appreciating it which also proved I can never get tired of SMT combat, specially around that early mid game is where you really start getting into the groove of it. The biggest complaint is definitely the Soul Matrix level design, I think if this game ever gets a second shot they should definitely remake all of the matrixes so that they are more based on the characters they represent, maybe a fiery castle for Milady? Story wise I think the game was perfectly fine until a certain gal fell in love a little too quickly with a certain dashing rogue with poor motivations. The Figue we know throughout the game and the Figue the developers want you to believe in simply aren't the same character. I blame this pretty much on the game being extremely undercooked in all aspects, it needed at least 1-2 additional years of development and a more reinforced team, this is why Atlus during its golden years tended to hand spinoffs to other studios which I believe isn't what happened here. I like every other main character in the game, really just wish we got to spend more time with them. If this had the same budget Persona 5 had we would be calling it a classic. Regarding the concept of Soul Hacking itself, it kinda got reworked in this game but vision quests are still a thing, just wish it wasn't only reserved to the first 2-3 hours of the game and then it's only used 2 more times, one of them which is optional for the 'True Ending'. Speaking of endings, most people like the 'Normal Ending' more but unlike them I don't hate Figue with a passion. The way Ringo was acting towards her friends at the end of the 'Normal Ending' was completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unacceptable and I have to question who the ♥♥♥♥ wrote that. To end it, Atlus, please PLEASE I'm begging you, please, make more games in this setting. Your original IP *IS* the Devil Summoner series. Please I'm begging you I will even take a MMORPG, make a Devil Summoner game set in this futuristic Tokyo with all the tropes of SMT you can. I promise you it would sell like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hot cakes. I literally took one look at Hozumi and I went "OMG WHY CAN'T I PLAY AS THIS GUY". Its been 13 years since we have been able to play as a proper Devil Summoner with a COMP, you know when that was? SMT IV. Every other new mainline game after that (that wasn't a remake) we either get God Powers (like Apocalypse and SMT V) or its this game.
The Covenants are Chaos Emeralds, Iron Mask is Eggman, and Zenon is Chaos. Thanks SEGA. :l I'm a long-time Atlus fan, got into the franchise with Shin Megami Tensei 1 on SNES (It's still my favorite one), and have played every single piece of MegaTen IP since then. I love alot of it. Kyuuyaku (Megami Tensei 1+2), SMT1/2, IF, 3, 4, and 5, Persona 1(JAPANESE VERSION), 2IS/EP on PS1, Persona 4 being the only acceptable modern Persona game (that they'll probably mess up the vibes for in the remake), Last Bible Series (especially 3), Devil Summoner 1/Soul Hackers 1/Raidou 1 come to mind as games that have fantastic pacing, consistent setting that never really feels forced or shoved in your face, subtle theming that make you actually think about who you are, what you value, and most importantly, what you continue to fight/live for. Not to mention the music slaps in almost all of these games. And then there are games where I don't feel that as much. Persona 3/5 (very bloated story wise with alot of text that could've just not been there and the game would've played out either the same or better), SMT4A (the characters just being... weird for the sake of being weird? Looking at you, Toki... your only character trait can't just be that you wanna smash the MC), Strange Journey despite it having cool vibes, has writing like UUUUGGGHHH... I AM... DEFEATED... HAAAAAAAAAA... at the end. Yeah, no sh!t. I killed you, God. spent 80 hours grinding through hell for that? Yikes. Also please give me an ending where humans actually learn from their mistakes, at least for a long enough time, please. Soul Hackers 2 is sadly being added to the list of games I don't personally vibe with, or even like at all. The characters feel hollow, with no real motivations outside of their one personal goal, which by the way, is not good writing. The gameplay has to be some of the worst in all of MegaTen, with little room for strategy or planning. You can't even swap demons you have in your Demon Summoning Program mid-combat, which has been a feature since minute 1 of MegaTen existing. Member-berry demons (that are locked behind a paywall btw) are sadly not enough to keep me here. Mara has literally just been an excuse for the writers to put peni-related "humor" into the games since SMT4 anyway. (no, I don't think it's funny.) This game *should* be cool, but then you realize the Tokyo Mirage Sessions people wrote it. It all just comes off as sloppy and generic. Just make original IP anime or something at this point, Atlus. At least then I wouldn't have to give you 60-110 USD for dumb memes and flat characters I could get from literally any other story. Soul Hackers 2 isn't the worst game ever made, it's just boring, which in some cases is *worse* than being bad, because at least you can laugh at something that sucks. This is just not it.
