A very underrated FPS game from the 2010's era, that saw initial low sales Combines horror elements with FPS gameplay in all but of a Singleplayer game, even though it has Multiplayer. Set in a alternative Cold War where the USSR discovers a rare material only found on a specific island in the pacific to quicken the arms race against the USA, players are set on abounded the island as you both timetravel back to the 1950's and 2010, as you fight monsters to human combatants. Lore is scattered around the maps even from the very start of the game, so you never have to feel confused about what the setting is about. However the story can be a bit vague at times with how it can throw these cutscenes so its not always as immersive One of the main gimmicks of the game is a tool that allows you to reshape objects back in forth in time as it can either turn objects or enemies into dust or to reshape them back to what they we're previously, with it being incorporated into several parts of the later parts of the game It is not a very difficult game, even if you play on the highest setting. Gunplay is pretty good, average for the era it was developed. Puzzles however are very vague, with them not being that complicated compared to other games that was developed during the time. Progression is fine, with there being an upgrade system for weapons you find around the game, with you being gradually awarded with parts to use on the weapons to upgrade them. Developed by Raven Software, one of the earliest FPS pioneers, in the 2010's, this is the fourth own franchise shooter they developed before they began developing with Call of Duty and with their layoffs, with speaking of that franchise it has very apparent early COD connection with its weaponry and animations, with it sometimes straight up copying the said franchise in some of its gameplay. The game is not however up to date, as it is locked to 120 FPS in the Singleplayer and a whooping 30 FPS in Multiplayer and won't allow you to go higher, and has its FOV set to 60.
