About
Be the hero in your own cinematic epic of action, tension and terror. A mysterious paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, taking hostages but issuing no demands. The government responds by sending in a Special Forces team only to have them obliterated. Live footage of the massacre shows an inexplicable wave of destruction tearing the soldiers apart. With no other recourse, the elite F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) team is assembled to deal with the extraordinary circumstances. They are given one simple mission: Evaluate the threat and eliminate the intruders at any cost.
Extraction Point kicks off where the original game ended – with a bang. As the helicopter which the F.E.A.R. team is on attempts to leave the vicinity, it instead winds up crashing. The F.E.A.R. team is thus forced to seek out an alternate extraction point, all the way battling the now free Alma and her paranormal minions across a destroyed city.
As the first F.E.A.R. team and Delta Force fight for control of the situation, a second F.E.A.R. team is sent in to shed some light on Armacham Technology Corporation's (ATC) dark past. As a member of a secondary F.E.A.R. team, you are brought in to discover more information regarding the secret project at the ATC facilities. The multiplayer component for this expansion is no longer available.

Playing F.E.A.R. in 2026 feels a bit like opening a time capsule from the golden age of first-person shooters. The game is definitely showing its age in some areas, but it's also surprisingly easy to see why so many people still consider it a classic. The psychological horror elements hold up remarkably well. Most of the game takes place in dark office buildings, warehouses, and laboratories that can feel genuinely claustrophobic at times. The environments could have used a little more visual variety, but they were clearly designed around the gunplay, and they do a great job of building tension. Even when nothing was happening, I often found myself slowly checking corners and expecting something unsettling to appear. The shooting is where F.E.A.R. truly shines. The weapons feel punchy, enemies react convincingly when hit, and the slow-motion reflex mechanic makes firefights incredibly satisfying. Diving into a room, slowing time, and clearing it before the enemy can react never stopped being fun. Even compared to many modern shooters, the combat still feels surprisingly good. One thing that genuinely impressed me was the enemy AI. For a game released in 2005, it's remarkably competent. Enemies will try to flank you, use cover effectively, and adjust their tactics if you retreat to reload or recover. There were several moments where I expected them to rush blindly toward me, only to find them repositioning and attacking from another angle instead. Enemy variety is decent, though not exceptional. You'll mostly be fighting soldiers and drones throughout the campaign. While there are enough enemy types to prevent the game from becoming repetitive, encounters often focus on a single type of enemy at a time. This makes it fairly easy to figure out which weapon and strategy works best against them, reducing some of the challenge once you've learned their behavior. The story can be a little confusing if you ignore the laptops, phone messages, and other bits of optional information scattered throughout the levels. If you take the time to pay attention, however, it does a good job of slowly revealing the connection between your character and the game's main antagonist. It's not the easiest narrative to follow, but it becomes much more interesting once the pieces start falling into place. The campaign itself is relatively short by modern standards, and there are definitely moments where the game's age becomes apparent. Even so, I found it to be a fantastic nostalgic trip back to 2005 and a reminder of how influential it was. Overall, F.E.A.R. is an eerie, action-packed first-person shooter with psychological horror elements that kept me on edge for most of the game. It may not be the scariest horror game ever made, and it isn't perfect, but the atmosphere, gunplay, and surprisingly intelligent AI have aged far better than I expected. Some games are remembered because they're old. F.E.A.R. is remembered because it was genuinely ahead of its time.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

An amazing shooter from over 20 years ago that blows modern day AAA titles out of the water in terms of raw gameplay and atmosphere (really impressive graphics for such an old game too). They don't make them like this anymore.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my VR mod gameplay here: https://youtu.be/0Vs7Ruw_iZ0 Yes, you can now play F.E.A.R in VR using the VR Mod made by a vibe coder! Yes, you're playing the game in full VR with 6 DOF motion controllers. Yes, you can even two-hand weapons. Yes, you can even melee. Yes, you can even lean in and out of cover if you want (but you don't need to). There's never been a better time to play FEAR, especially with the HD texture pack. You'll need to search for the VR mod, but it's completely FREE. Read instructions carefully as this mod does take a bit of reading before you can correctly install it (currently). Maybe you can get AI to do that for you though.
I bought this game!

F.E.A.R《极度恐慌》全系列汉化补丁天邈汉化 其乐论坛:https://keylol.com/t546312-1-1 网盘分流:s/1dcb1acqoPpEWdT69rDxhRw 提取码: yrqa 2.

The slow motion gunplay is some of the best ever designed and Alma is creepy af. The combination of tight tactical shooting and horror atmosphere is top notch.
Про F.E.A.R. F.E.A.R. Для мене F.E.A.R. Саме тому F.E.A.R.
F.E.A.R. I absolutely love this game, and it’s easily in the top 5 greatest shooters of all time. Even today, it feels better than many modern shooters despite being a 2005 game. F.E.A.R. 1 is the absolute peak, and unfortunately this formula could never really be replicated in its sequels. The mix of horror and action is incredible. The weapons feel powerful thanks to their sound design and impact, and combined with the ragdoll physics, enemies react to every shot in a very satisfying way. The AI is so unbelievably good that it forces you to play tactically, sometimes even feeling a bit like playing R6S. Without a doubt, it has one of the best AIs in gaming. Another one of my all-time favorite games 20/10. I wish another company could take over the IP and remake F.E.A.R. 2 and 3, while for the first game I’d prefer a remaster so its unique magic isn’t lost. Even though it’s an old game, don’t hesitate to give it a chance. Highly recommended 💜💜💜
