The unique cyberpunk-meets-fantasy world of Shadowrun has gained a huge cult following since its creation nearly 25 years ago. Now, creator Jordan Weisman returns to the world of Shadowrun, modernizing this classic game setting as a single player, turn-based tactical RPG.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

For one, the game is far too short, and I restarted the game several times cause well, OCD. This game is basically just 12 hours long (SHORT!). The battle system is actually quite good. HOWEVER melee have so much better advantage over range and sometimes the range attacks have so low accuracy you might as well stand in melee range. Honestly, the skirmishes can do with a little tweaking. The AI is unfortunately . . . stupid. They dun hunt you down, and very linear battle and I find taking cover does little. You want good battles of the same game type, try Hard West. The hacking (or called decking here) is well, useless for the game. And to be a decker, even part time you have to sacrifice magic so that's a major down side for a non battle capable skill.
I highly enjoyed this game and recommend playing these in order of release, each game is more well developed than the previous & gets progressively better. The world building is well done and true to both the TTRPG and the SNES game. Thanks for including that one NPC!

Beautiful little RPG that kinda feels like a visual novel and is perfect for role playing. The RPG-mechanics aren't too deep and on normal difficulty I had to reload like three times so don't expect a challenge. It's all about the narrative and the athmosphere. The story has everything you would expect from a classical cyberpunk story and keeps you interested in what happens next. With around 15 hours it has the perfect lenght for a fun adventure in the world of shadowrun.
Shadowrun Returns is an okay, but solid, introduction to the shadowrun series. The world is interesting and there is a solid foundation here for an RPG. However, there isn't much meat here at all. The one story that comes with the game is pretty barebones, has almost zero replayability, and is incredibly linear. The introduction is solid, the hook is interesting, but it doesn't hook you for very long. The best part about this game is that it is short, because quite frankly, if it were any longer it would have majorly outstayed its welcome. There isn't any real looting, character building is a good system but not fleshed out, there are some interesting companions if you even want to call them that, but overall it was just a fine game. Would I recommend this? Sure, if you're super into CRPGs and want to try out one of the older classics. If you are not already into the genre, this is NOT the place to start. I would recommend this on a DEEP sale at best.
I've tried so many times over the years to actually finish this game - many restarts from long hiatuses - and I'm officially giving up. Almost everything about the presentation is solid but the combat is just utter dogsh*t. It's boring even by 90s SNES turn based strategy standards. And the "95% chance to hit misses a lot more than 5% of the time" shenanigans is never not going to be stupid, no matter the game. The story is pretty good, but not good enough to slog through the encounters. I usually make a joke here, but my coffee wore off right before posting this so I guess this will be one of those 5% chance to miss accidentally nailing a teammate situations. The heck *is* a soykaf!?
A very linear game with a nonsensical plot that is hamstrung by a vicious late-game RNG. The art style and environments are nice to look at and some of the dialogue choices have an effect on how the conversation plays out and how you access certain areas. I found pistols and some player classes to be either useless or a liability during combat. The 3/4 top down view is ok when traversing across the map but during combat it can be frustrating when trying to get into cover and the inability to rotate the camera adds to frustration.
A fine crpg with a somewhat linear story. Well worth it despite that
Really enjoyed my time with this classic. Was a bit worried that it might feel clunky and was a bit anxious to have to have only text to fight through, but both were non issues. Highly recommend it!
