Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter

Must play for anyone who’s a fan of shooting 100 things at once!

First time trying Serious Sam Even though the game is old, it delivers a lot of enjoyment. I played mostly solo with a bit of co-op mixed in. Solo play can be quite challenging, while co-op feels much easier in comparison. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience, and the light story gives the game a sense of life rather than feeling like pure mindless action. Length: It took me about 5 hours to beat the game solo on Normal difficulty. Co-op is noticeably faster, and I’d recommend playing one difficulty higher when teaming up. Fun: The game is great for killing time. You don’t always need to stay highly focused—just grab a weapon and mow down everything in your path. Co-op is even more fun with the right people. Gameplay: For my first Serious Sam experience, the game exceeded my expectations. I wanted to start with the first title to see how it felt, and while it does become repetitive after 1–2 hours, the difficulty steadily increases to keep things interesting. The final boss mechanics are simple but satisfying. Graphics: For a game originally released in 2001, the visuals hold up well. I know this is the HD version with an improved UI and slightly better graphics, but considering its age and that it was the studio’s first game, it’s very well made. I didn’t encounter a single bug, and everything ran smoothly. Overall: If you enjoy fast-paced gameplay with running, shooting, and linear levels, this game is definitely worth trying. Just remember to use F6 to save—unless you want to die by mistake and restart the entire level (learned that the hard way 🙂). Game is good but i suggest to wait to be on sale because for a game this old and repetitive gameplay it isn't work 15euros , more or less like 3 euros max. Rating: 8.5/10
