About

Promising the Sabotage touch in every system, Sea of Stars aims to modernize the classic RPG in terms of turn-based combat, storytelling, exploration and interactions with the environment, while still offering a hearty slice of nostalgia and good old, simple fun.
Pressing the action button in sync with the animations increases damage output while reducing incoming damage. Along with timed hits, combat features multi-character combo attacks, boosting, and a strategic "locks" system offering options to play with different damage types in order to hinder enemies while they are channeling powerful attacks or spells, all in an immersive take on the genre; no random encounters, no transitions to separate battlefields, and no grinding.
Swim, climb, vault, jump off or hoist up ledges as you traverse seamlessly through the world with a navigation system based on platformer expertise that breaks free from the classic bound-to-the-grid tileset movement.
Our custom-made render pipeline allows the creation of a breathtaking world coming to life by pushing the limits of 2D pixel-art games.
Dozens of original characters and story arcs will take you on a captivating journey. Sometimes epic, sometimes silly, and other times emotional, Sea of Stars does its RPG duty of exploring classic themes of adventure and friendship, while also being chock-full of the unexpected twists and events you’d expect from a Sabotage production.
There are many ways to hang out in the world of Sea of Stars if you feel the need for a change of pace in your adventures. Sailing, cooking, fishing, stopping by a tavern to listen to a song or play the infamous tabletop game known as "Wheels".....every system has been designed to deliver an experience that pays respect to retro classics, while rethinking in some areas to offer a smooth and modernized experience.
Sea of Stars’ adventure is playable in its entirety by up to three players. Allies can drop in and out anytime to traverse the world together and master the Co-op Timed Hits combat mechanic. Also available via Steam Remote Play Together.

Shut up, Garl.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

all style no substance if it was a game 5/10 its really just meh
It's a fun and nicely made game that bloats out in the second half and has an incredibly boring secret ending. Boring in getting to it. The secret ending itself is cool.
Jogaço do caramba, pqp
writing leaves alot to be desired. they constantly reach for the lowest hanging fruit with naming and dialog.
Sea of Stars is definitely a great successor to Chrono Trigger. It's also somewhat accessible for people who never played turns based games before.
It's a gorgeous game I love the art style and the music. The combat was initially interesting but gets stale pretty fast. Cannot stand Garl lol.
I feel like they leaned far too heavily on marketing this as a "love letter to Chrono Trigger" or a "spiritual successor." The combat timings are horrendous because you rarely encounter the same enemies again after clearing an area, so there's barely any opportunity to develop a learning curve. The timed attacks are also poorly implemented. The hitboxes don't seem to match what feels like the actual sweet spot of the skill/combo attack, and some enemy positions can even end up partially screwing you over when timing them, some skills like serai venom flurry can go outside of your screen depending if the enemies are positioned top and your party below relying on sound cue instead of the visual one. That makes judging distance difficult in a 2.5D environment, instead of just having every encounter with the same distance between your party and the enemies, usually just positioned diagonally. (Sure feel free to call it skill issue instead of bad game design) Zale and Valere are among the blandest JRPG protagonists I've ever seen.
Honestly, I was glad when Garl died; it was the only memorable moment of my entire playthrough, f@ck that guy lol
The puzzles are terrible. Nearly all of them boil down to pushing an object in 2 or 3 directions or activating a few switches until a platform moves into the correct position. There's little challenge, experimentation, or satisfaction involved, there is 0 actual puzzle-solving elements. I also hated the fishing. There's no real mechanic, strategy, or skill to it, just press A, then hold A when the indicator lines up. At this point, I'd rather recommend playing almost any turn-based RPG from Square than putting your trust in another Kickstarter-funded JRPG marketed on nostalgia alone. Sure there is no grind because the enemies scale with you (kinda like the junction system in FFVIII), THEN WHAT IS THE POINT OF COMBAT ? I can just skip the enemies knowing is not gonna affect or punish me in the long-term. After beating Erlina the final boss is literally a bullet hell shoot 'em up with no difficulty whatsoever, you just keep pressing the fire button and you even get a free shield with barely cooldown so you don't even have to move, what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ending for the story beating this ''world eater''. Then apparently you find out there is actually a true ending, I ain't gonna look up the internet to tick a list of activities I needed to do for it. I think it's a brain-dead design decision that some developers still lock the true ending of a game behind collecting every collectible. I'm really not a fan of that.
