About

Promising the Sabotage touch in every system, Sea of Stars aims to modernize the classic RPG in terms of turn-based combat, storytelling, exploration and interactions with the environment, while still offering a hearty slice of nostalgia and good old, simple fun.
Pressing the action button in sync with the animations increases damage output while reducing incoming damage. Along with timed hits, combat features multi-character combo attacks, boosting, and a strategic "locks" system offering options to play with different damage types in order to hinder enemies while they are channeling powerful attacks or spells, all in an immersive take on the genre; no random encounters, no transitions to separate battlefields, and no grinding.
Swim, climb, vault, jump off or hoist up ledges as you traverse seamlessly through the world with a navigation system based on platformer expertise that breaks free from the classic bound-to-the-grid tileset movement.
Our custom-made render pipeline allows the creation of a breathtaking world coming to life by pushing the limits of 2D pixel-art games.
Dozens of original characters and story arcs will take you on a captivating journey. Sometimes epic, sometimes silly, and other times emotional, Sea of Stars does its RPG duty of exploring classic themes of adventure and friendship, while also being chock-full of the unexpected twists and events you’d expect from a Sabotage production.
There are many ways to hang out in the world of Sea of Stars if you feel the need for a change of pace in your adventures. Sailing, cooking, fishing, stopping by a tavern to listen to a song or play the infamous tabletop game known as "Wheels".....every system has been designed to deliver an experience that pays respect to retro classics, while rethinking in some areas to offer a smooth and modernized experience.
Sea of Stars’ adventure is playable in its entirety by up to three players. Allies can drop in and out anytime to traverse the world together and master the Co-op Timed Hits combat mechanic. Also available via Steam Remote Play Together.

This game took me a year to finish because there's so many moments I had to just put the game down and just walk away. I really wanted to like it because I like all the games it's clearly inspired by but I just can't. The story is not very well written, there's so many deus ex machina and Garl is like the DM PC who you just have to love and has all the answers and solves everything yay! There's so many characters that just show up once or twice and then just leave for the rest of the game, or they show up to solve a random 'issue' before leaving like what. The art and music is amazing but everything else about this is just bad. Oh, if you're going to do super mario rpg style combat please please please give us more mechanics than just the three or so that characters share. Combat was such a slog towards the end.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I really wanted to love this game. I tried and tried, booted it up again, left it, picked it up again multiple times. But I just cant play it. The visuals are amazing, the designs really cool, the music is both nostalgic and really good, the combat is fun and sometimes challenging, it has good QoL. So then, what is the problem with this game? The writing. Its horrid. It makes visually appealing characters feel hollow and generic. It makes an interesting premise fail to hook the player's attention. It makes the world feel shallow. It makes the game go from a gem of its genre to a forgettable one. And it frustrates me a lot, because it feels like they genuinely put so much love on this game, on every aspect of it... Except the writing. Would it have killed you to take a writing class? Did you try your best to make the story and dialogues as boring and empty as possible? I dont understand it, how nobody on the dev team looked at the final product and thought "wow, this kinda sucks". Dont' wanna get much into specifics, but two moments pissed me off so much I think I have to mention them (I'll try to not spoil anything). - When you get to a certain city, a character starts continuously breaking the 4th wall with terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE jokes about RPG game tropes. On a main story cutscene. It broke my inmersion so fast and so hard I got genuinely angry. What a genuinely obnoxious and dumb character. But she is a supporting character. She sticks with you for a good while. Incredible. - More or less halfway trough the game, after an important event, and when the truth starts to be revealed to the players, you get a random encounter with two mysterious villains very important to the plot. The dialogue goes like this: + ITS YOU!!!! > Calm down heroes, we dont want to fight, we just want to talk. + Oh, you scared? > Oh, you feisty? > Anyway, we want you to retrieve the [THING]. + No > Oh, okay, then we fight you. [ Boss battle ] > You win this round. We leave. Dialogue ends. You retain control. ..... What the heck. The heroes get jumped by TWO PLOT RELEVANT ANTAGONISTS, and after surviving they act like nothing happened? Not a single comment???? Nobody?!??! A perfect opportunity to show the characters interact, express their oppinions, build their characters, wasted, like many others, just thrown into the trash. I cannot recommend this game, sorry. I would love to, but I can't.
Started out nicely. Then I came along some enemies which had a duplicate option. The problem is... they can duplicate infinitely. So if they spam the ability before you could get your AOE off... it's game over. Died once... fine. Beat the foe. Then i came across the same type of foe again and they duplicated like hell before i got a proper move off. Never played the game after this. Such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ huge design flaw.
This game is nothing but annoyance and a waste of time, it might be good fit for some people, but I would rather go and eat crayons than play any more of this. It looks good and it's fun at first, but after 13 hours and 0 new skills (combo skills does not count), same repetitive combat and that annoying music.. I'll just go and watch YT video to see the rest of the story..
