Cмотреть ни в даль, ни в прошлое не надо; / Лишь в настоящем... Счастье и отрада. Ы.Т.А.Л.К.Е.Я это не просто игра... это что-то большее...
Well, great. I spend an hour writing an review only to lose the whole text to VALVE. ffs It's rather meh... In short: atmosphere good, guns good, artefacts good, puzzles mostly interesting. storytelling not good at all, bugs sometimes. loot in stashes reraly rewarding, no self repair, tiny scroll bar in inventory, no sorting by type Playability was good and above the old games, but i liked the storytelling in the old games more. I played it once and i don't see myself spending another 188h doing the same.

GAME IS NOT WHAT IT SEEM IN THE TRAILER. THERE IS NO HELP WHEN IT COME TO MISSION POINTS. THE AI ARE WAY TO HARD TO KILL IF WITH A AR-15 OR EVEN A BIGGER GUN THE ANILMALS THAT RUN THROUGH OUT THE GAME ARE EVEN HAREDER THEN THE AI. DONT RECOMMED THE GAME IS VERY LACK LUSTER IN ALOT OF WAYS.
This game is definitely not for me, the anomaly bs is not a fun mechanic, the first introduction to the bolts where you run through the anomaly, did it, and the one next to the anomaly i threw it in sucked me into it sideways and killed me anyway. ♥♥♥♥ all that im good. Also some minor performance issues, and I really dislike the control scheme
Performance and visuals are just not where they should be, I can barely break 40fps in some areas, and I'm lucky to get 60fps anywhere on the map, and yet foliage looks blurry and messy, reflections don't really work outside of a few areas, and nearly all light sources just look wrong. Of course I'll edit this if any major visual and performance updates release, I know an engine update is planned, but a new DLC is releasing and there's still zero news about the engine update
too bad

I am a massive STALKER fan. I have been playing the original games since a young age on an old pc which belonged to my father. Clear Sky, Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat - forever in my heart. Even if I am a great fan of this franchise, i cannot recommend this game. Dont get me wrong, the game looks amazing, the story, while difficult to understand and sometimes messy, is still great. The main issue which cannot be avoided - gameplay. I have played this game plenty enough to realise "Hey, im not enjoying this". The combat, artifact and optimisation are all bad, speaking from my own experience. Everything said below will be from my own experience of playing this game on the Veteran difficulty, not even Master.

Combat - Its absolutely horrible, no matter who you fight, mutants, people, zombies or literally anything, its just that bad.
Mutant agility and speed is just interesting, you can fight a pack of blind dogs and you can waste all the ammo trying to hit them because the turns and jumps they do are just insane. Bigger mutants are just bullet sponges that can take on anything you throw at them. Did you ever have to kill a pseudogiant with 3 rpg shots? I had to.
Combat with human enemies is no better either. Its just insanely unfair how they can bring my health bar to almost a zero by shooting me in the body from a decent ditance, while there is no reason for me to shoot anything but their head, because its the only thing that matters. But even shooting the head wont work. Literally watched a Monolith soldier with an exosuit survive 5 armour piercing 5,56 × 45 mm rounds at short-mid range, and how fair is that? In the first half of the game misions are fun and somewhat enjoyable, but after what goes on in SIRCAA and Monolith comes back, combat just becomes bland and simply ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It just becomes a formula of going to fight around 20 enemies in the same place, and that goes on for multiple missions. Trying to take the Duga is probably the most painful experience, because GSC thinks that throwing 20-30 monolith soldiers in there makes the missions fun, NO IT DOESNT. And if we take into account how difficulty works (aka your enemies become tankier and deal more damage while being more accurate), I just have no chance of surviving in some pre-exosuit heavy armour.
Artifact hunting probably is the most iconic and well known things about STALKER, and this game is pretty much centered around them. Yet somehow some of these places for artifact gathering are painfully difficult, you have no room for mistakes. Trying to take a crappy artifact for 10 minutes is just not fun. While yes, most places are alright for artifact gathering, some are just horrible.
This review is more of a cope for me, because this game is not going good for me right now, but i do hope that this review helps at least someone. This game is cool, and it has insane potential, but i think that instead of pushing for new content after hotfixes, the devs should try to make the game feel better than what its providing now. Making enemies stronger doesnt makes the game more fun while being difficult, its just a cheap and lazy move. A game should be enjoyable even if you choose a harder difficulty to play on, not punish you for wanting a new experience.
