P fun game

it's cool but I don't like the combat but it's still charming

Fun Diabloesque pirate action. Aiming the gun with the mouse pointer was frustrating, but I got used to it eventually, that's how good the rest of the game was that I didn't quit because of that. There's a lot of stuff going on in this game variety wise. So much so that there are mechanics here that I have no idea how they work because there is no instructions: The dice rolling, the treasure map stuff, I collect gold but there is literally no where to spend it! Yet I'm getting through the game and having fun without using/understanding any of it. Works great on the Deck with some manual key binding.

Better than most in the genre, including ones coming out today.

Amazing theming, amazing combat dynamics, okay progression and story. At the asking price, please try it, you might fall in love.

Fun little arpg. Could it use some more features and a tweaked different approach to skill tree/sockets---yes. But as a lover of games like TQ1, i can say im having more fun on this then i am on the EA TQ2. So honestly at the price, if you like ARPGs, just get it.

Super fun

Fun pirate-themed shooter with a great upgrade system that really changes up the feel of the weapons and can be tailored to different play styles. The campaign is longer than I expected, but in a good way, as the environments are varied and designed well, sometimes downright beautiful. And that, plus seeing my character build take shape and really start wrecking enemies, had me powering through the game in some long sessions. Note that this is not a pirate simulation, and it does not turn you loose with a ship and crew to roam the high seas. The story is linear, although in a nice touch, revisiting previous chapters is seamless. And you can jump right back into the "present" after jumping around between chapters, keeping all equipment and leveling progress. Also, in a refreshing change of pace, the story goes to some interesting locales far beyond the familiar waters of the Caribbean. There is some ship to ship combat, but it is not the focus here. Mainly it is about shooting and hack & slash combat on foot. And rum. Your liver and your rum flask are equipment items that can be upgraded and swapped out for sturdier replacements. Mercifully, there is no animation that plays when swapping out a liver. Other gear includes musical instruments that heal allies when played, multishot cannons, cutlasses, peg legs, and jaunty pirate hats. Highly recommended. The gameplay was engaging all the way through, I got genuinely invested in the story at some points, and playing around with the upgrade system for skills and weapons is a lot of fun. This is an amazingly polished and feature-packed game for the price.

Pretty cool game top down shooter / action-rpg, was pleasantly surprised.
