I'm torn with recommending Slormancer, and since I can't seem to leave it on a positive note, I will not recommend it for the following reasons. First, a part of me really enjoys playing, going into a dungeon, and slaying lots of enemies in a cute pixel world with the humor this game has. And usually, I don't mind grinding for hours if I like the game that I am playing. I just didn't think it was a good feeling here, considering how much you have to grind for all that stuff you need. As you can see, I have almost 10 hours of playtime, in which I unlocked the remaining characters and inhabitants of the kingdom. I'm not sure if I am still missing someone(probably, I can't tell as of yet). It makes sense early to be motivated to get the villagers back into town. Most are needed for selling your inventory, upgrading gear, challenges, storing items, and so on. After exploring your skills, choosing what you want to play with, you hop from place to place with the same challenges up ahead. You can also switch to a different hero at any time after unlocking the rest. As long as it was somewhat rewarding with unlocking new areas and characters, it was fun, but after that, I got tired quickly, and most often I just rushed through the rooms, without going for all of the enemies if it wasn't needed. In the beginning, I still went to kill every enemy; later, it became tedious. Collecting items was fun in the beginning, but since you have to replace them as you level up, it makes it feel less valuable and annoying to keep track of all the stats and upgrades you can get. I got confused while collecting and comparing my equipment with the newly collected ones. It might be just me, not being cut out for a grind like this. I read through some reviews, and for others, it is a lot of fun to grind here.
Fun for a few hours, then it gets repetitive, very repetitive. There's almost no variety of maps, many of them like a maze which forces your pathing. If that wasn't enough, it forces you to grind a lot since relatively early in the game. Grind, grind, grind, grind to get mats for the most basic things. It's made to keep you playing in exchange for nothing. For the price tag I expected way more. Being an indie studio is not an excuse either. You can get Chronicon + DLCs for less money and have way more content.
Excellent game, quality ARPG with satisfying progress. Enjoyable grind.
Absolutely agreed with other reviewers, the game starts strong and turns into a complete boring grindfest with no changes to gameplay after the first 10 hours or so. I kept pushing waiting for it to get better, but I'm legit falling asleep at this point which is an absolute shame.
I always felt like I'm not smart enough for Path of Exile. This game doesn't make me feel that way and yet I'm creating my own powerful builds and farm as crazy. I'm enjoying this so much! I recommend this game for sure
Surprisingly in-depth for such a small team. If you like arpgs you'll probably like this game.

Best casual a-rpg
Worth every penny, and more. Interesting build craft, simple and easy to understand itemization.
