Farmington County: The Ultimate Farming Tycoon Simulator

Please note [b]Farmington County has contained a game-breaking bug since October 3, 2022[/b] whereby your saved games erase themselves for no reason - [b]this is still present as of August 25, 2024[/b]. The developer was aware he broke this game yet chose to once again halt development on this one to go work on another of his myriad of unfinished titles. I strongly recommend not buying this or his other titles until he exhibits some form of proof he's capable of finishing a game.

Avoid at all costs. Last Official update for this "Early Access" title was July 14th 2021. Sure I get it was a solo dev and its not easy making games, and I am sure this is a good one (I ran the game so I can warn others of this game) but with no hope of any bug fixes or the game ever getting finished means this will forever plague the Steam store with another Early Access title that will never see the light of day as a final product. Just save your money, even if this game is 90% off don't pay any money for this game, its abandonware. and a note to others, always check the discussion boards before purchasing Early Access titles, I stupidly didn't do this, but will make sure I will do from now on. It is a shame as this has been on my wishlist for sometime and was excited to see it was on a decent offer. But nope don't fall for it guys. EDIT - After developer response: So the developer has "come back" after best part of a year hiatus, saying they will be working more on the game, Ok thats fine I get that real life gets in the way.. but for how long until the next "life changing" reason. I would still say, keep this on the back burner, wait for the game to be feature complete before spending any money on this game. EDIT 2 - I just thought I will see how this game is progressing since the Developer has said that it isn't abandoned and still working on it... Well no activity on the boards from this developer with the last communication I can see was back in October/November 2022...... Its now currently beginning of March 2023.... So 5 months with no new information or any sign of the developer? I assume another Hiatus is in order.

I tried the game out for about an hour. Although simple, the UI and character control is beyond terrible and something I can't see myself ever enjoying, no matter how well I "adapt" to it. Refund requested.

20 minutes of game playing and the camera movement is so beyond terrible with no option of adjustment to the point that I was feeling a headache coming on so I had to quit. Maybe if one can get past the camera movement the the terrible control handling you might find the game enjoyable, but for me, unless the game stops giving me motion sickness, I don't see getting much out of it.

Bought this game on sale out of curiosity and because the feedback seemed very positive. I will have to say that with how simple the game looks and feels, I am enjoying it so far, despite for some odd reason my savegame being deleted (bug?) However, I still would not recommend this game right now. Why not? Because it seems to have been abandoned. The dev seems to no longer be active in the game's discussion board, the updates to the game seem to have halted and it has been pointed out to players in the discussions board that the Dev seems to be working on another game under a slightly different name. That being said: If the dev decides to return to working on this game and addressing issues and providing with more content and bug fixes, I am more than willing to reconsider my review.

This showed up in a random Facebook ad some time ago and I bought it because of the positive reviews. It has some cool features in theory but it's just total jank at this point. The dev doesn't seem to be very active either (last updates 9 months ago at this time).

Game look abandoned. It's playable but lacks a lot of content and hasn't been updated since early 2021. Do NOT buy this, unless development is continued!

A game that could have been. First, I want the developer to know that should he start development again, I will change my review, as the entire review is based off of the abandonment of the game. I absolutely despise leaving negative reviews for independent developers. However, after looking around and checking the website to see that it as well has been abandoned, I don't have much hope for this game ever getting another update. The game is cute and cozy, but is not finished. Yeah, probably worth the 15 dollar price tag, just don't hold your breath on it leaving the early access graveyard. Once games get desposited here, they rarely leave.
