A video game sequel is intended to be an opportunity for developers to take the formula from the first game and improve upon it in different ways. I explain that because Rosenkreuzstilette Freudenstachel does not come across as a video game sequel, but instead as Rosenkreuzstilette: The Lost Levels with how it is just the first game and nothing more. For being a game that took a few years to even be released, it carries over both the positives and negatives from the first game and does not attempt to fix them (I recommend reading my review of the first game for more context in what i mean). The idea of having your main weapon have limited ammo is actually an interesting take on your weapons lineup and gives the player more of a reason to use the other weapons. However, the weapon you have kills enemies with ease, is a turbo fire weapon, and weapon energy can be found without any problems. This game also still copies room layouts from other Mega Man games. The game does add in some original ideas for its levels; granted a good chunk of the ideas aren't good like the swimming sections and certain level gimmicks (the darkened rooms in Recht's stage, the snowstorm in Liebeas's stage, and
the one-hit lasers in Iris Stage 1
), but it does show potential for maybe Rosenkreuzstilette 3 to be good, if that even happens. Bosses are also really strange. A majority of them are repeats of bosses from the first game albeit with different patterns; why there couldn't have been a new set of baddies that serve Shwarzkreuz is beyond me. I also ended up finding some of the bosses to be pretty bad, those include: Schirach as well as
Darkside Devil
with their patterns, and
The Nightwalker
for being both a poor man's Gamma from Mega Man 3 and being a mindless boss fight. Overall, Rosenkreuzstilette Freduenstachel is a waste of a sequel that could've been good. I do not see any value in playing either of the Rosenkreuzstilette games over the Mega Man games. If you want to play one of the games, play the first one; but if you want to play both games, wait until they go on sale because these games are not worth the full price.

This game is a good fast Megaman clone! Enemies, structures and traps, come right from the original games. That out the way, the game is HARD! It’s quicker so that makes it harder, I managed to get to all starting bosses, which then all of them proceed to kick my butt; and I can beat Megaman 1-6 bosses with booset alone. I’ll keep trying!! Update: thanks to some developer hints (stackable T tanks), now I managed to beat 10 stages! This game is very fun if you love the classic megaman games!
Together with the first Game, this is my favorite Mega Man Clone and one of my Favorite Mega Man Fangames, if you can call it that despite being an original Series. The Good: - Flawless Controls - Amazing Soundtrack - Captivating Story and Characters - Gorgeous Visuals - Fun Leveldesign - Challenging Bosses (Buster Only) The Bad: - Short Stages The Game plays exactly like you want a Mega Man Game to be. The Controls are extremely smooth and responsive and just moving around feels really good. The Stages are super fun to go through and are a huge step up from the first Game, offering more Variety and Challenge, though they are still a bit too short and easy for my liking. However, there is also an Instant Death Mode that is really fun to play and adds the Challenge i desire. The Bosses are the strongest Part of the Game. A huge step up from the first Game as well, and i already really liked those Bosses. They offer extremely fun Patterns that may seem intimidating at first, but are super fun to learn and master. They also have much less RNG than in the first Game. I definitely recommend trying them Buster Only, no E-Tanks or in Instant Death Mode to see their full Glory. I just love this Game to death. The Movement makes it so fun to go through over and over again in combination with the great Visual Presentation and one of my favorite Soundtracks of all time, and also Characters that i have learned to love. In addition there is also a lot of replay value through doing Challenges like Buster Only, no E-Tanks, Instant Death Mode, or just try to go as fast as possible, and save your successful runs through the handy Replay System! And then you also get to play as another Character that plays like Zero. There was also a Zero like Character in the first Game, but it's Playstyle fits much better into the Level and Boss Design of this Game and it is my favorite way to play the Game! If you like Mega Man, good Music or fun Characters, i recommend you give this Game a shot!

I LOVE YURIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is actually a really good game, if you want more mega man its right here
