A bit clunky interface and visuals are very monotonous. Controller support is bad. Have some redeeming qualities like upgrading system and roguelike type of gameplay. Take on missions and get rewards, collect parts and place them inside slots to rank up your ship. Game run in super small window so you have to stretch it, aspect ratio is off unless screen resolution is changed. Play only when striving for more shoot'em ups.
Shmup meets diablo-style loot game but also with

Freeform shipbuilding
Region clearing mechanics. (Completing missions in regions liberates them, unlocking shops or giving you permanent tributes per mission completed.)
Post-game modes (that I haven't reached yet).
Free skill respec at any time. (Unlike some ARPGs that take you tens of hours to get a build up before going "lolnope, that's not gonna cut the bacon. Why not start all over?")
Altogether game feels rather unique. Much of the time you can describe a game "it's like game X but with Y feature." I have a hard time trying to remember a game that would feel a lot like Sector Six.
A fun time building your best shoot'em ship. Story line had me hooked despite it's size. Might have done four or more different play throughs over the years. Honestly what caught my attention at first was the aesthetic and ship options. Finding shoot'ems/shipbuilders that have meaningful customizations as well as replayable levels seems regrettably rare even on steam. Coupled with some interesting and sometimes complex mechanics, Sector Six is darn near a once in a lifetime gem on the storefront as far as I am concerned.
This game is quite good despite not many knowing about it, and the gameplay loop is decently good, and my only complaint (as of now) is just the fact that you can't change your graphics settings to fit your current monitor size TL;DR Decently good game Cant change graphical fidelity
Absolutely fantastic and beautifully made side scrolling shoot-em-up arcade game with really deep progression and mechanics will likely keep you playing for many hours. Well worth the price of admission, even if it's not on sale. RECOMMENDED. 9.5 out of 10.
This game absolutely whips the lama's ass upd: gets kinda boring cutting through bunches of enemies at higher levels in the story and has some bad spots in game design, but overall the setting works well and the game is interesting!
Fun game! I like the light RPG element and the ship customization is awesome. Great for jumping in quickly for a few rounds or all night if You feel like it.
One of the most unique shoot-em-ups I've ever played. A highly distinctive art style, fun upgrade system, pretty decent music, an interesting story, and an intriguing type of customization where your parts affect your look and stats. It has a lot going for it. I put a lot of time into it several years ago when I had to use a 2007 Acer Mini-PC for half a year. It ran pretty well, with minimal slowdown. It's gotten updates since, and it's back on my list for a full playthrough again.
