I hate that I finally have to leave a bad review but here it is. I really wanted to like this game but for the price its just not worth it. I kind of regret buying it. The charactors aren't very likable and its just not very clear what the dialoge options will be when you have to choose; not to mention they don't give clear information on how to do various things to get the endings. Its not a very clear game and I'm disappointed. I played for a while and ended up uninstalling it to reinstall a free game thats simillar and bought DLC for that game. Cost less money to do that and had a better experiance. The buyers regret is strong with this one.
Roommates is a visual novel/dating sim where you play through one year of college, and try to build a relationship with one of four other characters. You can choose to play as a guy or a girl. Initially I was quite thrown by the scheduling component in the game. I read the guide on the Steam Community, as well as the walkthrough and hints available on the Developers website. It took me one semi successful playthrough to figure out the game mechanics. I also played through Love Bites, another game by the same developer that has a similar but simpler mechanic. Anyway, after one successful play through, I'm part way through a third play through. It is quite a fun game once you get the hang of it , well done, and runs smoothly.
All I can really say is this. I found this game maybe around the age of 10-11 years old, now being the ripe age of 21 (Math could be wrong lol) but either way I found this game on a tablet and I fell in love with the demo, however not being able to pay for the actual game itself I played every possible path I could on the demo and latter in life forgot all about it. Until out of the blue this game hit me and I bought it with my "big boy money". I still remember the love I have for this simple game. I have only recently got a hang of this games style and am going to try and 100 percent this game over the coming weeks. The Characters are all unique and lovable and the replay value is simple but effective, with small changes based on your choices. I don't think I truly have a problem with this game besides it being shorter than I thought it was going to be. 21 weeks is all you get and it stops you half way, however I still do enjoy the premise of the game and the hidden challenge that comes to romancing certain characters. I think most people who like a good story and simple gameplay that still makes you think will very much enjoy this game. And if you don't understandable. But try it out and you may find what I see in the game. Much Love!
I've played a few Winterwolves games now, this one is my favorite so far. The characters are interesting and I really liked the mechanics of planning out your week and balancing work, hobbies, studying and energy levels. There's plenty of replayability potential - another love interest, other jobs and hobbies. I'd recommend picking your love interest early and trying to maximize the skills associated with their path, rather than being all over the place like me, not realizing for a while what the stats did.
I was ready to give this a thumbs down: too much reading, not enough choice. I literally fell asleep in the middle of playing the game. Once i woke up and got to the weekly planner, the game changed for me. Here is where you find the choice. Will you study, work, play? Totally up to you. Since this is a dating sim these activities lead to you interacting with a few eligible guys (sorry, no lesbian choices here). If you prefer, play as a guy.
Absolutely not worth the price tag, even on sale. It's not a terrible game and it does some things right, but I can't recommend it. It quickly becomes a chore, the art work is limited and objectives are poorly defined or outright hidden.
A fun little visual novel dating sim with two playable characters and a lot of paths. Good soundtrack (if not a bit repetitive, just put on your own background music), decently written and lovable characters, with some sweet moments as well. Many different paths, one for each of the characters but some are restricted if you are playing as Annie or Max. Though this keeps it fresh even doing the same route but with a different character has new dialogue. Definitely get while its on sale tho, 8 years later and 25 bucks is too high. Also sex CGs if you are into that.
I've played this for 4.2 hours and the only sex scene was me getting F&cK3d by the developer. Wordy as hell and the MC is annoying AF. Tons of reading that didn't really mean anything and the tedious class schedule. Felt like I bought a broken class scheduler game. This is a reading sim.
I am fan of the characters and the writing
