Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 13: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

First off, don't even bother playing this without the expansion. It gives the player goals to work towards even when there's nothing going on. As for the game itself, compared to the older RPG style games (7,8,10), this one obviously looks nicer but has too much Ancient China social networking and busywork. Real Time battles severely dumbs down the combat as they have removed a lot of depth to accomadate being able to move around freely; for example units only have one special ability now, and that's usually just some simple buff effect. No more cunning strategists with a list of battle tactics. Most of the game will just be the player endlessly doing menial city tasks and watching numbers slowly go up. Since these tasks don't change regardless of who or where the player is, once you've played a few hours you have seen 90% of the gameplay. Historical events tend to go screwy if the player is not playing a major character. I had my custom NPC try different things during the classic 183 scenario start, and all manner of events can go sideways. Sometimes Sun Ce fails to break away from Yuan Shu at all and Wu never gets established, often times the sequence of events that lead to Cao Cao beating Yuan Shao never trigger and they pretty much end up in a forever war, and most of the time Shu goes nowhere and just hold on to their little 1-2 provinces in the NE. It's actually kind of funny to watch, but it makes the game laughably easy when the major powers never get established. Inversely starting your own empire in this one feels absolutely painful to get going and you should always just join someone else. I would highly suggest just playing RTK 10 with the translation patch instead as long you don't mind the old graphics. The battles were better and events didn't go completely off the rails.
