One of those games that had all the potential in the world.. an original setting, fun looking creatures and a colorful post-apocalyptic vibe that really stood out. That’s why it’s such a shame that the game never really received a solid update to bring its ideas together. In the end, the gameplay mostly boiled down to running around, killing random mobs and picking up random quests that never felt connected. Half the time I wasn’t even sure what was part of the main storyline and what was just some side activity thrown in because.. why not? The sense of direction simply wasn’t there and instead of feeling like I was progressing through a meaningful narrative, it often felt like I was just wandering around hoping to stumble onto something important. There’s definitely charm in its world and style, but without proper updates or clearer structure, Biomutant never managed to turn its creative ideas into a coherent, engaging experience. It’s a title that could have been so much more and that’s what makes it disappointing.
I’m not sure what’s going on with game reviewers these days, because they absolutely panned this game—but I’m already hooked. The gun and melee combat feels great, the art direction is gorgeous, and, honestly, anthropomorphic animals are an instant win for me. I also appreciate how the game introduces its RPG systems gradually (with full explanation) instead of dumping everything on you at once and expecting you to figure it out. I’ll update this review as I play more, but so far this has been a reminder not to blindly trust “professional” reviews from places like IGN or GameBolt. Even PC Gamer—a source I’ve followed since the 1990's—completely dismissed it. Always play games you are interested in and judge for yourself.
Recomendo? Pra um público específico. Pra mim? Tentei, mas não deu não
This is a game that does not respect player intelligence. It's so worried you'll miss how clever and cool it is that it lays itself out like an instruction manual for the first hour and makes you read every. single. ♥♥♥♥♥♥. word. NO YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GO HAVE FUN UNTIL I'VE FINISHED TEACHING AT YOU. if you're going to make a tutorial try to space it out so that a player actually gets to play the game, rather than merely pressing buttons when told. I've never seen a game take control away from a player so often to explain in exhaustive detail what doesn't need explained right that minute, or steal control away to direct your attention to where it was headed anyway. While heading to a waypoint I literally had the game stop me to explain that I needed to be heading to the waypoint. WTAF. Then, "Oh, look: here's that character you just left a few minutes ago to explain something else" [CUT-SCENE] [CUT-SCENE] [DIALOG BOX] [UNAVOIDABLE TUTORIAL] This explanation couldn't have been given while I met him the first time? If you're going to add a narrator. 1. Use them well, 2. Make their commentary interesting or helpful. 3. Make the words make sense. And I'm not talking about the silly made-up words, either. I mean the plain English. Put it in combinations that work and have meaning. OR: Give me an option to turn the Narration OFF entirely. I can't remember the last time I was so thoroughly irritated and frustrated by a game so obnoxiously hell-bent on helicopter-parenting a player.

I'm literally unable to fathom the myriad of negative comments with like 0.5-1 hours into the game. For me Biomutant gave me a little flashback to my childhood when gaming was about exploration and fun in a setup and atmosphere that has an engaging vibe. Of course, the character customization & stats, the lore & choices and the combat & its balance are all childish, but I kinda feel that its part of the package and fits into the idea this game attempts to implement. Exploration is relaxing, the game can be even a bit of a challenge on Extreme difficulty (I'm playing an almost full Luck/Charisma build tho to keep things interesting :D) so if you are into the furry/weeb/peaceful vibes, then this game could worth it, especially on sale.
Because of games like this, I stopped preordering games. The only cool thing about it was the character creation, everything else is garbage. The gameplay feels clunky and the missions are reminiscent of soulless Ubisoft style filler. Out of frustration because I had already spent a lot of money on it, and out of hope that it would eventually get better, I forced myself to push through to the credits. Well, you learn from your mistakes. Hopefully.
3/10 – Finished, but Extremely Bad
You finish it just to say you finished it.
Everything bad you've heard about this game is real: the story is bland, the narrator can be annoying (but you can dial it down), the melee combat is clunky, the missions are kind of repetitive, the puzzles are too simple, the systems are disconnected from each other and not particularly detailed. <A mile wide, an inch deep> is the phrase that you'll read the most when it comes to describe Biomutant. And yet, I can't help but loving it. The world is simply beautiful, navigating it is always interesting, exploration is very rewarding, the crafting system is FUN (now that's a first in gaming) and lets you experiment with little cost, the overall design of everything is creative and unique, the music is fitting, the main characters and the monsters are very well designed. Biomutant is a generous experience, it will give you a lot if you are willing to indulge into its world. While not being perfect, Biomutant feels like a work of love, and I had a lot of fun playing it.
This game has a huge potential but the story, narration is bland and makes me sleepy, that's why I skip the dialogues most of the time. I wish there should be a neutral option here instead of putting a dislike since I like the vibe of it.
Art style is great, gameplay is not.
