A brutal godlike village sim that melds the god game, management, and tower defense genres! Fight off hoards of monsters at night, and expand your village in the day time. Inspired by games like Black and White, Rimworld, and Dwarf Fortress but not quite like any of them.

Positive review because this game is a blast and you can sink hours into it. It has elements of games like Rim world but harder and a lot less is explained or tracked. The problem i have is that it could be so much more if a little bit more balance and item tracking was added. The developer seems to have abandoned the game with no warning or reason. Yes it can qualify as a finished game and you can have a lot of fun with it as is, but it would be so much better with a little more attention. Yes i understand that games stop getting updated after a while but as someone who seen the plans secured update after a couple years of nothing, i got exited and that has turned to disappointment. The developer has done bursts of bug fixes and updates over a couple of months every couple of years then faded away again with no warning. As someone who has owned and played this game for almost 10 years, I have seen it grow and evolve and have always had it on my downloaded list and play it on and off quite often. I would always recommend to pick it up, especially on sale but be aware that towards the mid to late game on your first base in the map (once you get that far, which is not easy and not accomplished on your first run unless you drop the difficulty all the way) your tower of resources and manpower will start to wobble, and in the mad dash to keep everything from toppling you will start noticing that some things don't flow and you get that EA feel from slightly janky game systems that haven't been fully balanced, and in my opinion that is where you get the abandoned comments from everyone, as these systems haven't been addressed. Overall Buy the game. Its good for quite a few hours of fun. Just treat it like an old-school disk based game where there is no hope of updates and learning to work around and take advantage of a couple janky systems was part of the fun.
good
This is one of my favorite games on Steam. It is an excellent city/base building and management game. From a difficulty perspective it can be quite brutal in the early beginnings, but you will quickly figure out how things work and develop a good strategy. Each map has some variety, which lets you experiment with different approaches each time. I notice there have been some negative reviews recently, which I don’t understand. Personally I consider the game feature complete and can highly recommend. Game runs well on most hardware no issues on modern desktops, though can get a bit slow in during late game on old hardware (e.g. my +10 year old laptop).
Gave this game a couple tries and just never "got it". The pixelation did not help the user experience.
Game may or may not be abandoned depending on which urban dictionary you subscribe to. Regardless, its trash. Lots of broken or very poorly implemented mechanics. Admitted, it had some interesting ideas, but again, implementation is completely broken since the last patch a few YEARS ago...
This Game does not deserve the bad recent reviews. a) its already released, calling it abandoned too soon is a joke, especially considering its a one-man mission. Of course I wished that development would continue, but I am happy either way. b) why complain about the artstyle? its easier to make and still looks great. c) the sound is really good imo d) it is challenging, so are many games. There are hints of how to play successfully literally in the trailer.
Fun mix of tower defense and city builder.
I bought the game and tried it for a few minutes. The game seems like it could be a great experience, but a few things bothered me enough that I decided to refund it. The first issue was the text size. The default UI text felt too small, and increasing the UI scale to 1.1x showed a warning that it could cause rendering issues. After changing it, I noticed that this option does seem like it may introduce some visual problems, so I was hesitant to keep using it. Another issue was the map zoom. The maximum zoom-out level is not enough for my preference. I really enjoy being able to zoom out and see the bigger picture of my settlement, but the current limit feels too restrictive. The map panning also felt awkward. The problem is not that it uses RMB (although I would prefer being able to customize it to something like MMB). The bigger issue is that it does not feel like you are grabbing and dragging the map. Instead, clicking RMB seems to set a direction and the camera keeps moving, which feels less intuitive. Another thing that bothered me is that when the game is paused, you cannot plan buildings because the pause overlay blocks interaction. I like to pause a game, look over my settlement, think about my next decisions, and place buildings before unpausing. Not being able to do that made the planning process less enjoyable. The game itself looks promising, but these small usability issues had a big impact on my experience, so I decided to refund it for now.
Unique game. One of my favorites.
