After 3 years of the release I managed to play the latest game of one of my favorite game series ever, the adventures of Guybrush Threepwood the mighty pirate! This game has all the package for this genre, established characters, funny dialog, beautiful colors, astonishing graphics, nice mechanics, smart puzzles, nostalgia and so many funny moments. The worst part of this game is that it ends and there is no more game, as simple as that. I totally recommend this game if you are a fan of puzzle adventure point and click 2D-2.5D. 10/10 - 5*

As someone who grew up with the originals, I was thrilled to see Ron Gilbert return as game designer after all these years, and the massive development time really shows. The game feels polished, thoughtful, and filled with nostalgic callbacks. The new visual style may divide opinion, but I personally enjoyed it. It still manages to capture the charm of the series. Underneath, though, it’s still the same point-and-click gameplay we know and love, inventory puzzles, quirky dialogue, and that classic Monkey Island humour. However, I can only truly recommend this to fans of Monkey Island 1 & 2. The story feels like it was made for those who have been on this journey from the start, and newcomers might not feel the same connection. Finally, play it on the challenging mode. The easier setting strips out too much of the fun puzzle-solving, and honestly, the game isn’t worth playing twice unless you’re a completionist. For long-time fans, this is a nostalgic trip worth taking. For everyone else, it may not hold the same magic.
Dit is nostalgie van de bovenste plank. De stemmen zijn weer fantastisch, de graphics waren even wennen maar dat duurde absoluut niet lang. De achtergrondanimaties zorgen voor meer dynamiek dan in de vorige Monkey Island games. Het boekje met hints is vanaf heden een must-have voor elk nieuw adventure game en het allermooiste aan het hele verhaal was de brief in het sketchbook. Ik kreeg er bijna tranen van in mijn ogen. Het was weer genieten, net als 30 jaar geleden!

이야기의 마무리 부분에서 시나리오 작가가 튀었음이 틀림없다. 이런 책임감없는 이야기는 학교 다닐 때 리포트 쓸 때 말곤 처음 본다. 너와 내가 함께 한 모험의 시간을 그대로 쓰레기통에 버린거라 너무 한심스럽다. 그 외에 퍼즐을 풀며 나누는 대화나 퍼즐을 푸는 선택 사항들은 원숭이섬 그 자체였다. 코믹한 것과 한심한 것을 동시에 느낄게 있게 해준다. 그래. 딱 대학교 다닐때 썼던 리포트 수준이다.
An absolutely brilliant return to this series. Full of humor, great writing, and loving references to previous games. But also a fantastic step forward for the adventure game genre, overflowing with great new ideas. A real testament to why these kinds of games do not need to be relegated to the past.
