Que no os engañen, es un juegazo. Que sí, que el final es una chorrada enorme, pero eso ya es marca de la casa.
I think just in terms of gameplay this is the best Monkey Island game. Most of the puzzles felt fair and there was a lot more variation in different types of puzzles than in any previous games. I think the artstyle is really good aside from how certain characters look (Guybrush is one of those characters unfortunately...) The story is cool and interesting with all the new and returning characters working with each other / against each other in classic pirate betrayal fashion, and the voicework for all the characters is really great as always. I know some people don't like the ending but I thought it was appropriate and honestly I couldn't see it ending any other way; If you read the dev note at the end it will also make more sense. The soundtrack is overall not as consistently good as Monkey Islands 1-3 but the songs that are good are REALLY good; For example I really like all the LeShip songs and Scurvy Island. Most songs also have a bunch of different versions too that change in different areas and it's really well done (though, none are as cool as MI2's dynamic soundtrack for Woodtick - Unfortunately, they said making that was too hard and they're never doing something like that again, lol) Overall GREAT addition to the Monkey Island series, and I can't wait for the next one (Technically there is one after this which is the Sea of Thieves tall tale, and yes I did play it and yes it was awesome). I think it will be a long while before the next game though since now they're apparently working on a new Thimbleweed Park game (Looking forward to that too).

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I've played every Monkey Island game. It's a unique game that's stuck to me since I was young. Return to Monkey Island still has the same charm and nostalgia as its predecessors and it was a ton of fun! Guybrush Threepwood, Elaine, the arch nemesis LeChuck and all the returning characters were familiar to interact with again. Every game experiments with the art style, and the same was done successfully here. The cartoonish animation and brush-like concept art fit perfectly to reflect the narration by Guybrush to his young son. I especially love how you can speed run this game, or spend hours exploring the little details and corners to collect achievements. The puzzles and dialogue choice were enjoyable and also challenging at times; makes you THINK. If you're a fan who's played the previous games and want to revisit the past, this game will definitely make you smile.
I thought I was not a fan of point-and-click games, but I had lots of fun with this one! As soon as I began the actual story, I found myself completely hypnotised by the game; I'll pause the game to go the toilet to realise I've been playing for four hours straight without even noticing! You might or might not like some mechanics, and some puzzles sure are... puzzling 😉... but the games even gives you hints when you're stuck. Sometimes I had an idea, but was still stuck. Checked the hints which said the same thing I was thinking, but the games wants you to do it its way. Which is fine. If you are willing to let the game lead you through the story, and you accept that there will be some things that you might not enjoy, I think in the end you will enjoy the experience. I'm still not sure if I want to 100% it. Maybe?
This one is a clever, heartfelt comeback that captures the spirit of the series while embracing its age. It brings back the charm, humor, and writing that made the originals so memorable, with puzzles that feel classic but more streamlined and respectful of your time. The new art style might be divisive at first, but it grows on you and fits the tone of this more reflective chapter. What really stands out is how self-aware it is - this isn’t just another adventure, it’s a continuation that acknowledges the passage of time for both the characters and the players. It balances nostalgia with new ideas, making it feel fresh without losing its identity. It may not hit quite the same highs as the absolute peak of the series, but it’s a thoughtful and satisfying return that fans will appreciate.
I PERSONALLY as a fan whos played every MI -liked it- I liked the new art style - I liked the twist even if it felt underwhelming to some IT MAKES SENSE if you played Mi1 and 2 - Curse is good I know that makes me a pariah for liking SOMI 3... dont care I reviewed it for real but IMHO this is the 3 best one. I dont want to go into details I beat this forever ago but forgot to post a positive so I am doing so... because I think if your playing this you ALREADY are a fan so try to understand what the developers were doing here... I cant understand anyone that hates this if they play it through to the ending. There is just something great about hearing Guybrush's voice actor again in this game...feels very nostalgic and brings me mirth... I love this character so much. If anyone wants to argue with me about this game I will gladly insult swordfight you on your terrible opinion.
It is a very dated formula that I used to love. I thought I was still going to love, but I did not. A lot of walking back and forth, the solutions are very specific, and the story is not appealing. If you want to play an adventure game, stick to the old ones, like Broken Sword or The Dig.
Gilbert and Co. should be very happy with this game. It's a great, maybe last, entry, and uses some smart puzzles to keep you guessing. For example, it'll get you on a train of thought, focusing on keys, when sometimes a sledgehammer is the obvious answer. The writing is witty, punchy, but can get droney after awhile- but that's to be said of any deadpan kinda stuff. The nostalgia drips if you're a fan of the series, but I imagine even those jumping in would find the clever framing of the narrative approachable for a first play. A few of the puzzles, including the last one, either alluded me because there was a double click kinda of requirement to fully interact, or because of unclear instructions, but the latter is forgivable considering puzzles are meant to ride that line. Overall, fantastic entry that will appeal to veteran gamers who feel older and wiser, and younger adventurers who might want to give Monkey Island and it's many great games a chance. I found the treasure of Monkey Island, and I'm glad I did.
