One of the very best turn based strategy games I have ever played and I will be playing it for years to come.
The beginning is rough and the story takes time to set in but it is 100% worth it After the rough tutorial that throw every mecanics of the game at you at once, either you fall in love with the gameplay or you hate it, there is no in between. I found the first few chapters to be rough but down the line it became better and better, overall really a fun time
good
Definitely not for everyone, but I think this game is one of a kind. It's flaws with its story and gameplay can ruin it for some, but I'm glad I finished it.
It should not be this hard to get a remaster of an xbox 360 game to run at a stable 60
steam me ensinou que essa porra tinha versão de 360 e eu achei que era exclusivo de play 3 até hoje vai se fuder
TL;DR
Can't recommend this version of End of Eternity bc I cannot save the game .
Otherwise...
(based on my experience playing it elsewhere) It was certainly a fun game, with a terribly presented story .
(NEUTRAL)

The “World”-map is an interesting Steampunk-style Towel of Babel structure that is only explorable if you engage in combat+story to earn hexagon tiles and Access Pass to traverse around + going up-and-down each floor. The verticality of the map is neat but the limited fast travel to only returning to the Base + forcing players to traverse through places and face Random Encounters felt treacherous. If the game didn’t have fun combat, the necessity to engage combat to level up character and earning resources wouldn’t be enough of a justifiable reason for such tedious restriction
The game is poorly introduced, most of the info regarding the gameplay is located in the Arena( where you fight optional challenge trials and earn coins to spend on pretty valuable items ). The gun modifications in the first two chapter is A$$ and does a terrible job preparing me for the mandatory escort mission of the main story quest
.
(PRAISES)

) I had fun with the combat. Leveling up is an aggregate of a character’s usage of Handgun(HG), Machinegun(MG), & Explosives… which compels the player to constantly change turn positions & switch weapon loadouts
Constantly customizing the weapons is as important as Leveling up each character; Linking together firearm parts and especially making nonsense monstrosities, is pretty hilarious( even tho grinding to find the necessary material to craft that gun-part can be a pain in the A$$ )
Building resonance points when a character run pass the in-between gap of two other characters and using those resonance points to perform Tri-attack is really fun
Drip is nice, mostly for Leanne( it’s pretty lame for the other playable characters tho ),but unfortunately she can’t wear the pig shirt and rock a ponytail like in some of the cutscenes
Also, I enjoyed some of the funny slice of life moments in the story and the main cast’s interaction
.
(NITPICKS)

The story as a whole product is nonsense;

explanations of events occurring must be extracted by talking to all of the NPCs each chapter
backstory is mostly inferred and loosely connected by cinematics
characters escalate emotions real quick for internally consistent reasons but the audience didn’t receive enough information( and if there was any, the info is vague AF) to understand why
Themes, topics, and questions about the world is brought to the table but by the end of the game it answers NONE OF THEM

The game touches on topics related to science and theology to bait pretentious YT video essayists to analyze aspects of the game so that one could fully comprehend what happened in this minimalist and poorly presented narrative ( like Shadow of the Colossus or Fromsoftware titles ), without earning it
Retrying a fight costs money unless you decide to load an old save file
Completion of side quest must be done while in the current Chapter, otherwise they’ll be gone if the player advances to the next chapter
Overall... 7/10
RESONANCE OF FATE/END OF ETERNITY 4K/HD EDITION is a remastered version of tri-Ace’s cult-classic action RPG that successfully reintroduces one of the genre’s most unconventional adventures to modern audiences. Developed and published by tri-Ace, the game enhances the original release with sharper high-definition visuals and 4K support while preserving the gameplay systems and artistic direction that made it stand out from more traditional Japanese RPGs. Instead of relying on familiar fantasy settings, the game unfolds within Basel, an enormous machine-powered tower that shelters the last remnants of humanity. Its distinctive blend of industrial architecture, philosophical storytelling, and stylish gun-focused combat immediately gives it a personality unlike almost anything else available on Steam. The narrative centers on three mercenaries—Zephyr, Vashyron, and Leanne—whose seemingly ordinary contracts gradually lead them into a far greater conflict involving the secrets of Basel and the nature of fate itself. While the story begins with relatively simple assignments, it slowly reveals deeper themes concerning survival, sacrifice, destiny, and human purpose. The dialogue between the three protagonists is one of the game's strongest features, balancing humor, heartfelt moments, and personal growth that makes the party feel believable and engaging. Although the storytelling often leaves room for interpretation and demands careful attention from the player, its mysterious tone complements the unusual setting and rewards those willing to uncover its hidden layers. Combat is where RESONANCE OF FATE truly distinguishes itself from nearly every other RPG. Rather than relying on swords, spells, or straightforward turn-based mechanics, battles revolve around an intricate system of firearms, acrobatic movement, and strategic positioning. Characters perform cinematic leaps across the battlefield while unleashing coordinated attacks with handguns, machine guns, and grenades. Success depends not only on offensive power but also on understanding the relationship between scratch damage, direct damage, movement paths, and resource management. At first, the system can feel intimidating because of its complexity, but once mastered it becomes exceptionally rewarding. Every successful encounter feels earned, encouraging players to think tactically rather than simply overpowering enemies through higher statistics. Character progression is equally distinctive. Instead of conventional level grinding, growth is closely tied to weapon proficiency, encouraging players to experiment with different combat styles throughout the adventure. The extensive weapon customization system allows firearms to be fitted with numerous attachments that significantly improve performance while creating visually impressive combinations. Building increasingly elaborate weapons becomes an enjoyable progression system in its own right, rewarding creativity alongside strategic planning. This depth ensures that equipment management remains engaging from the beginning of the campaign until its conclusion. Basel itself is more than a backdrop; it serves as an important part of the overall experience. The city's layered structure encourages exploration as players gradually unlock new districts by placing energy hexes across the world map. Side missions provide additional insight into the lives of the city's inhabitants while expanding the world beyond the main storyline. The environment's mechanical design, towering machinery, and worn industrial atmosphere create a memorable setting that perfectly reinforces the game's themes of humanity surviving within an artificial world. Although navigation occasionally becomes confusing due to the map's unusual layout, discovering new locations remains consistently rewarding. The remastered presentation successfully updates the original visuals without altering the game's artistic identity. Higher-resolution textures, improved image clarity, and support for modern displays make both characters and environments noticeably sharper than before. While certain animations and assets still reflect the game's original generation, the enhanced resolution allows the intricate architecture and stylish character designs to shine. The soundtrack continues to be another major highlight, combining emotional orchestral pieces with energetic battle music that elevates both dramatic scenes and high-intensity firefights. Voice performances further strengthen the personalities of the main cast, making their relationships feel authentic throughout the journey. Despite its many strengths, the game is not without flaws. The steep learning curve can discourage newcomers, particularly during the opening hours when tutorials struggle to fully explain every combat mechanic. Some players may also find the pacing inconsistent, as story progression is occasionally interrupted by optional missions and lengthy dungeon exploration. Likewise, although the remaster improves visual fidelity, it leaves several interface elements and quality-of-life features largely unchanged, making certain aspects feel dated by current standards. These issues do little to diminish the game's originality, but they do require patience from those experiencing it for the first time. RESONANCE OF FATE/END OF ETERNITY 4K/HD EDITION remains an exceptional RPG because it refuses to follow established formulas. Its innovative battle mechanics, memorable cast, richly imagined world, and deep customization systems combine to create an experience that feels genuinely unique even years after its original release. Players seeking an accessible, conventional RPG may struggle with its demanding systems, but those willing to invest the time to understand its mechanics will discover one of tri-Ace's most ambitious and rewarding creations. The remaster faithfully preserves everything that made the original special while presenting it in a cleaner and more polished package for modern hardware. Rating: 8/10
