Resident Evil Village is a very enjoyable game, even if I think it could have been even better. The village itself is easily my favorite part of the game. The gunplay feels satisfying despite Village not being a traditional shooter. Combat strikes a nice balance between action and survival horror, giving players plenty of memorable encounters without completely abandoning the series' roots. That said, I have a few issues with the game. The story often feels more entertaining than genuinely frightening, and while the opening hours are fantastic, the second half loses some of its momentum. Certain sections become noticeably weaker on repeat playthroughs. Even with those shortcomings, Village remains enjoyable Resident Evil title with excellent atmosphere, memorable locations, and fun gameplay. Pros: + Fantastic village hub and rewarding exploration + Satisfying gunplay + Strong atmosphere and environmental design + Excellent first half of the game + Great visual presentation Cons: - The second half isn't as strong as the opening - Some sections become repetitive during multiple playthroughs
