Resident Evil Revelations

In Anbetracht dessen, dass es im Grunde ein Spiel für den Nintendo 3DS aus dem Jahre 2012 war, gebe ich dem Spiel eine 7/10. Das Positive zuerst, für das Alter dieses Games sieht es recht hübsch aus, egal ob es um die Umgebung oder das Gegnendesign geht. Die Story ist recht verworren und ist Resident-Evil-typisch ganz okay. Die Schwierigkeit hält sich in Grenzen (habe nur die Kampagne gespielt), jetzt das Negative. Die Gegnervielfalt hält sich in Grenzen, was dazu leider führt, dass im späteren Spielverlauf die Gegner sich wiederholen. Die Steuerung beim Zielen und Laufen ist relativ klobig, was gerne dazu führt, dass man daneben schießt. Man merkt auch leider, dass das Spiel zwischen Teil 4 und 5 stattfindet, da es schon da mehr von Horror zu Action wechselt. Ansonsten wer etwas Kurzzeitiges sucht, was man gerne auch an einem Abend durchspielen könnte (mein erster Durchlauf hat 8 Std. gedauert), kann hier gerne zuschlagen

It's cool and fun, as far as I remember it's kinda clunky and plays like a fever dream.

I really wanted to like this game as its basically my dream setting for a survival horror title, but wow - never before has a game's characters been so truly awful that they straight up put me off finishing the story. This game has some truly heinous characters and dialogue (with the exception of Jill/Chris, being pre-established characters...), and the ones that aren't actively painful to spend time around are just boring, if... inoffensive. The gameplay and exploration - whilst okay, doesn't make up the difference to make it worth spending time with. There's a slight awkwardness to everything where you can tell the game started life as a 3DS title - it doesn't feel particularly satisfying to dispatch enemies, which makes the great-in-theory Raid Mode also kind of fall flat.

Gostei bastante, principalmente a narrativa da história fiquei passada com as descobertas, mas me pareceu um pouco menor que outros jogos da franquia. Ótimo rever Jill e Chris. Mas nossa, um sofrimento pra rodar crashava bastante no modo campanha, até que coloquei no modo janela e desconectei da internet, qual dos dois resolveu não sei.

It was alright...

Revelations is the series that really got me into RE. I love this game and, for me, it is up there with RE4 (both original and remake) and RE9, which are my all time favorites.
