RE5 and RE6 get a lot of hate. Fans loved RE4, they often praise it as the best Resident Evil game in the series, but then in the same breath they'll insult RE5 and RE6 for being "too action-y" and conveniently forgetting that Leon was performing backflips and quipping like an action hero nearly every cutscene in RE4. RE4 set the tone. RE5 and RE6 just delivered on the same... and to be honest? It works. The die-hard RE1-3 fans hate it, but anyone who didn't really enjoy those games that much to begin with and just wanted a game where they didn't have to look up guides for, had a decent camera that didn't make them feel useless because it kept switching on them at the wrong time when they moved back from an enemy two steps, and didn't have to constantly worry if they were going to run out of ammo for the upcoming boss and softlock their game, those people? They loved the game. Especially for the coop. RE5 and RE6 are great coop games. I've had a lot of fun with strangers in the past just playing these two games alone. In fact, RE5 was one of my first online coop experiences, and I followed it up with RE6 not that long after and made a friend online after my second playthrough back on the PS3. They are horror-skinned action games and if that's fine with you, you'll love 'em. They're a good time all around. If you're looking for something to scare you out of your panties, well... good luck with that. Resident Evil was never really that to begin with. I haven't been scared of it since I first saw RE1 as a kid and I'm certainly not scared of any of that now. Well, that's not true. RE4's Del Lago still scares me, but that's a thalassophobia thing. I hate giant water monsters that can instakill you. So yes, I recommend the game. Most RE games are worth it. Only one I'd say no one should ever play is the RE3 remake. It's a colossal rip-off and feels even shorter than it already is. RE4 remake I have some criticisms for and won't ever play, but a newcomer would probably like it just fine. They'd like the original just fine too, but whatever.
worst of the series but.......... ANYTHING FOR ADA!!
