RE5 and RE6 have a bad reputation as being where the series took a nosedive and went in too far on action. Many say that RE5's cheesy with absurd moments like punching a boulder to make a bridge, or Jill's "Millions will die!" line. To that I say: Absolutely, and the game is all the better for it. Resident Evil 5 is not a horror game that you should play in a dimly lit or darkened room at 3am for ambience. The game is at its best as a fun co-op adventure where you and a buddy can share in a fun B-movie experience. Where you can both riff and joke about silly dialogue or fun moments, and enjoy fighting off zombies together. Even when you can't do those things, the game isn't too bad as it seems to build from the beloved mechanics from the original RE4 which arguably started the trend towards action. The main issues come from solo play with AI partners, as they struggle to do what you want them to at times. That and bugs, which are admittedly frustrating when they appear but are often memorable like when the final boss gets bugged and cannot die for like 20 minutes of combat.
mr ♥♥♥♥ over here thinking uroboros is such a genius name when the snake swallows its own tail.. ok dude we get it come on! chris! go! come on! sheva! serious note: bossfights require guides so i'd say like 7/10
pretty great game. one of the best re games for sure
Fun
8/10
One of the most memorable games I've ever played, don't take my hours played as accurate since this used to be my go to game when I was bored to speedrun and play on Xbox. If you want to play all of the RE games, this one is a definite must to play.
Recommended, good graphics, good story and seven minutes, Seven Minutes is all I can spare to play with you.
