This is great already, can't wait till they get it finished up!
This looks like one of those game I know I will keep going back to just to chill! Rolling pendent full upgrade feels like a Gygar remake lol! hype! and the dev is SUPER active on discord!
Не ведитесь на данный проект. Внимания он не стоит. Куча диалогов сюжета специально тянут время. Вернуть сей поделие не получилось. Вторая лока полное калище с этими медузами. Не рекомендую
I've had fun with this game so far. And think it's a strong entry in to the genre from a passionate developer. At it's current price, I feel I've already had an adequate amount of time and fun with it to justify the cost - especially when comparing to other products, even those that are cheaper, but turn out to be much lower quality and as such, only get an hour of play time (sometimes even less). I think it's important to support small dev teams when they have created something with potential, and they are showing passion for further development, with community input taken seriously. Those who wish for a neutral rating don't seem to consider how damaging a negative review is for games made under these circumstances, and a thumbs down review is just as disingenuous as a thumbs up if that's not what you actually feel the game is. Steam only allows the two options, if you can't select the option you truly feel, maybe consider not leaving a review for the reasons I previously stated. I hope the dev team manage to keep improving the game, and gain success so that the game can realise it's full potential, and we also don't lose a passionate team from the industry entirely. I'm up voting, not only for support, but also because I feel the positives of the game in it's current form outweigh the negatives. Especially when comparing the game to other games in the genre at a similar price point, and far worse quality than Relic Abyss is.
Relic Abyss, developed by Reverse Loop and published by Mameshiba Games, takes the increasingly popular survivor-style roguelite formula and injects it with a surprisingly rich blend of fantasy adventure, cosmic horror, and long-term progression systems. Set in a world being consumed by a mysterious force known as the Abyss, the game places players in the role of heroes fighting against extinction. While the premise is simple on the surface, the title uses its setting effectively to give weight to every expedition. The combination of medieval aesthetics, forgotten technology, and Lovecraft-inspired monstrosities gives Relic Abyss a personality that separates it from many of its genre contemporaries. The game's greatest strength lies in the sheer amount of customization available. Players can unlock up to twenty playable characters, each possessing unique strengths and combat specialties. These heroes are further enhanced by an extensive skill system featuring well over a hundred abilities, including powerful ultimates that can dramatically alter a run. Relics, equipment enchantments, and collectible enemy cards add additional layers of strategy, allowing players to create specialized builds tailored toward offense, defense, or utility. This depth ensures that experimentation remains a core part of the experience, and it is difficult to go through multiple runs without discovering a new combination worth pursuing. Combat delivers the familiar satisfaction expected from a bullet heaven title. Large hordes flood the screen as players weave through attacks while unleashing increasingly spectacular abilities. The six available stages offer a decent variety of environments and enemy types, while procedurally generated elements help maintain replayability. Boss encounters stand out in particular, featuring intimidating creatures that feel appropriately imposing given the game's apocalyptic narrative. Difficulty scales steadily, encouraging players to learn enemy patterns and make smart decisions regarding upgrades instead of relying solely on raw progression. Beyond combat, Relic Abyss introduces several systems that add a sense of persistence between sessions. A central hub allows players to construct and improve facilities, turning the game into more than a sequence of disconnected battles. Watching the settlement expand over time creates a satisfying progression loop, reinforcing the idea that every successful run contributes to humanity's survival. Training mechanics and permanent upgrades further support this structure, providing meaningful incentives for continued play without completely removing the challenge. These features may not be as deep as dedicated city-building games, but they complement the roguelite framework effectively. The title's presentation deserves recognition as well. Its colorful visual style contrasts nicely with the darker themes of cosmic corruption and impending doom. Character designs are memorable, enemy variety remains respectable, and the soundtrack helps maintain momentum during lengthy runs. Although some aspects of the Early Access build still feel unfinished, particularly regarding content quantity and balance adjustments, the foundation is undeniably strong. There is a clear sense of ambition behind the project, and its hybrid approach demonstrates a willingness to experiment beyond genre conventions. Relic Abyss ultimately succeeds by combining addictive gameplay with meaningful progression and a distinctive atmosphere. It may not reinvent the survivor genre entirely, but it offers enough originality through its hub management, extensive build options, and world-building to stand out. Fans of roguelites looking for a title that blends action, customization, and light management mechanics will find plenty to enjoy here. As development continues, it has the potential to become one of the more notable entries in the genre. Rating: 7/10
this game is incredibly charming and fun to play between the cute artstyle the fun characters and fun weapons there is a lot to enjoy and wanna support here.
Cute
I love this game! It's kind of like vampire survivors but with a story and hand drawn anime inspired art. Quality of play so far has been entirely comparable to a fully released game which is impressive for a game in early access. For the price I can't see anyone who likes roguelite games being unhappy with this game at all, Support real indie devs and have a great time, it's win-win.
Oldschool JRPG meets Survivor-like bullethell. Never expected that combination to exist and even less expected to love it this much. Dedicated developer in the discord as well!
