Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.43/day in the week to Aug 22 → 3.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

From the creator of 'Plague Inc: Evolved' comes a unique and deeply engaging political/military strategic simulation.
In Rebel Inc: Escalation, the war is ‘over’ - but we all know that doesn't mean anything. In order to stabilise a war-torn country, you need to balance competing military and civilian priorities to win the hearts and minds of the people, whilst also stopping a deadly insurgency from seizing power!
Following on from the global mega hit 'Plague Inc.' with over 160 million players, Rebel Inc: Escalation offers a deeply engaging, strategic challenge inspired by the complexities and consequences of modern counter insurgency. It has received acclaim from international development experts and was even featured at a major international peace conference!

8 regions to stabilise - Deploy to wildly different strategic environments, including the gentle farms of ‘Saffron Fields’, or the impenetrable forests of ‘Distant Steppe’. Work to defend the ‘Azure Dam’ from the Insurgency, or develop unique new strategies to counter the drug trade in ‘Opium Fields’.
8 unique governors - Each one with radical new abilities to master. Choose the ‘Economist’ to receive an entire year’s income in one go or the ‘Warlord’ to train a personal militia. Field an army of heavy armour with the ‘Tank Commander’, or tap into the black-market with the ‘Smuggler’.
Hyper-realistic - Inspired by Afghanistan, the simulation is highly detailed, containing real world development initiatives and an innovative representation of counter insurgency tactics. It has been praised by the World Bank and was even featured at a major international peace conference.
Campaign Mode - Conduct large-scale operations across multiple regions. Carefully manage resources and choose unique upgrades in a persistent world with 150+ Player Tactics, Map Features and Insurgent Tactics to radically mix up gameplay!
Vs Multiplayer - Take control of the Insurgency to try and topple the government in your opponent’s Region, whilst trying to stabilise your own! Dynamically scaling difficulty ensures that players of different skill levels can have a good, challenging game.
Co-Op Multiplayer - Work together to simultaneously stabilise two separate Regions, sending soldiers and resources to your partner to achieve your goals. Or jump into a Co-Op Campaign of escalating difficulty.
Challenge Mode - Compete against the Steam Community on randomised Weekly Challenges, including an extra hard mode for the best of the best.
Custom Scenarios & Scenario Creator - Explore a world of fresh new ways to play with official and community created Scenarios, or develop your own share them with other players via Steam Workshop. Who said Nation Building was hard?
Advanced civilian and military AI - Sophisticated narrative algorithms model the needs of local populations, while deadly insurgent attacks put constant pressure on your operation.
Gorgeous Graphics - Stabilise a beautifully rendered 3D world that responds to your actions and thrives as you provide jobs and services. Drone cams and civilian TV channels bring your operation to life and show you what's happening on the ground.
Rebel Inc: Escalation builds on the original critically acclaimed gameplay of Rebel Inc. with multiple significant, all-new features, enhanced music, improved 3D graphics for PC/Mac, online multiplayer and steam workshop support.
An important note: Although a fictional game, Rebel Inc. looks at important real world issues and we have made every effort to deal with them sensitively. The game has been extensively researched and has been developed in cooperation with leading regional politicians, business people and journalists as well as international charities, experts and governments.

Just like real life, no consequences if you just cover up after bombing a town full of civilians. Game is too repetitive, little content and less unique then Plague Inc, just a complete downgrade. It's worth the money as long as you know what you're buying, just gets too repetitive after playing awhile.
I should have read up more on this game before grabbing it in a bundle with Plague Inc (by the same developer). It's not just a military strategy simulation: it's an Afghanistan simulation, plain and simple. Sure, they've changed some names and just make vague references to "poppy fields" and "coalition troops" and such, but it felt more and more tasteless once the reality of the setting sunk in. Like... too soon, my dudes. It's been a place of human tragedy, a place where the hubris of empire goes to die, and a place where the voices of women have been literally silenced. But sure, let's make it into a cutesy casual game where it's alright because YOU the player get to be the colonial power swooping in to "save the day." And because it is a game (a casual one at that, based around fairly short rounds in different maps), the idea of insurgency itself has been streamlined into just another mechanic you manage. I suppose the real reason that Plague Inc works while Rebel Inc does not is that in the former, you're much more clearly the antagonist. You're actively trying to cook up a pandemic to kill off humanity. But in Rebel Inc... the ethical stance is much murkier. You're bringing "stability" to a place you're framing as a blank slate, and doing some fun war crimes along the way. All your civics skill tree options are just a way to reduce the ferocity of the insurgents so you have to deploy fewer troops. But what are you really saying here? That people only deserve education and plumbing and roads as a way to make your warfighting easier? Some things shouldn't be made into games unless you're prepared to handle the heavy moral burden of the subject matter. This is one of them. It gave me the ick, and that ick kept multiplying until I closed and uninstalled. Note: I am a veteran.

10. Warlord my beloved
For some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason I latched onto this game for a while and did a dive into scenario modding racking up a high number of hours for a mediocre game. The premis is great, but the game is pretty lacking in some areas, specifically with its event system being largely unimportant aside from specific cases and how simplistic the gameplay is. The music is good though.
Only 1 or 2 winning combinations per map, or else it just instantly ticks away at an unstoppable rate if you try and have any kind of personality or do things a way that might be fun.
Forgot to make this review years ago! Rebel Inc is a nice Strategy game that demands you to learn how to blanace between holding the insurgency off and stabillse the region by winning the people over. I enjoyed it over the years and say it's a good pick up, it's quite hard but you might find yourself enjoying it if you like more Strategy with you having control over!
becomes an rng fest in mega brutal, imagine if when they found saddam he teleports through 20 mountains and summons 50 clones of himself, thats what mega brutal is. also there is no strategic decisions with any of the options, there is always one definitive correct answer and if you don't know that it is you get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over. and you better hope that the concerns arent telecoms, electricity, jobs, or defense cause there goes half your money just to settle a zone so you dont get screwed over by "lack of stability" even though the insurgents are trapped in a mountain and can't do anything (until they spawn in the other corner of the map for no reason) if you must get this game, get it on sale and never go past brutal, you've achieved the gameplay loop without the BS
