Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 24 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Oh my god, what an absolute load of garbage. Do not waste a single penny buying this game, at any price. On top of the game being absolutely forgetable, its damn near unplayable. The combat is beyond clunky, cumbersome and broken. Map travel is confusing, you cannot change directions and you have to set up camp every five seconds. How someone could (in 2017) invest the sort of money this game took to develop and put forth this pile of ♥♥♥♥, is beyond me.
Fun for fans of the series and old-school RPGs in general. Felt a bit more repetitive than the first game, characters reach the point where additional levels and items don't make a significant difference anymore. There are many very difficult riddles in certain parts of this game, have a walkthrough handy if you don't want to spend hours running around aimlessly or trying hundreds of options by brute force.
Realms of Arkania: Star Trail, developed by United Independent Entertainment GmbH and Crafty Studios and published by United Independent Entertainment, is a modern reimagining of a classic 1990s role-playing game rooted in the German tabletop system The Dark Eye. As the second chapter of the celebrated Nordland Trilogy, Star Trail carries forward the traditions of old-school computer RPG design: dense mechanics, deep character customization, deliberate pacing, and a strong emphasis on tactical combat and exploration. Rather than attempting to modernize the formula into a streamlined, cinematic experience, this remake largely preserves the complexity and structure of the original while presenting it with updated visuals and interface refinements. The story continues the events of Blade of Destiny, placing players once again in the turbulent lands threatened by orc invasions and political unrest. The central objective revolves around securing the legendary Salamander Stone, an artifact of immense importance that could unite fractured factions and turn the tide against encroaching forces. Along the journey, the narrative unfolds through dialogue, written descriptions, and environmental discovery rather than cutscene-heavy storytelling. The tone feels reminiscent of tabletop campaigns, where player decisions, exploration, and quest-solving shape the experience. Political tensions between elves, dwarves, humans, and other factions create a layered backdrop that rewards players who engage with the lore and take time to absorb the world’s depth. Character creation and party management form the backbone of Star Trail’s appeal. Players assemble a full party of adventurers, selecting races, professions, attributes, and talents within the framework of The Dark Eye rule system. The sheer number of skills, spells, and character traits provides an impressive level of customization rarely seen in modern RPGs. Every statistic influences gameplay in meaningful ways, from combat effectiveness to social interactions and survival during wilderness travel. This depth encourages thoughtful party composition and strategic planning. A balanced group is essential, as different encounters demand a combination of martial prowess, magical ability, and specialized talents. Exploration is divided between overworld travel and localized dungeon or town navigation. The overworld is not merely a map to click through but a dynamic space where time, terrain, and random encounters matter. Travel consumes resources and exposes the party to danger, reinforcing the survival aspect of the journey. Dungeons and settlements are navigated in first-person perspective, evoking classic grid-based RPGs. Players must manage inventory weight, provisions, and character fatigue, adding another layer of realism and immersion. These mechanics contribute to a sense of vulnerability that enhances the overall tension. Combat is entirely turn-based and emphasizes tactical positioning and preparation. Battles unfold on grid-based fields where movement, spell selection, and skill usage determine success. Encounters can be challenging, especially for underprepared parties, and careless decisions often carry severe consequences. The system rewards patience and an understanding of character strengths rather than reflexive action. While some players may find the pacing slow compared to contemporary RPG combat systems, others will appreciate the strategic depth and faithful adherence to tabletop principles. The remake attempts to modernize presentation through improved graphics and interface updates. Character models, environments, and spell effects have been refreshed compared to the original 1994 release. However, the visual style remains modest by modern standards, prioritizing clarity over spectacle. The interface improvements help streamline certain interactions, yet some menu systems still feel rigid and complex, reflecting the game’s old-school DNA. These design choices create a unique tension between modernization and preservation. Star Trail’s greatest strength lies in its uncompromising depth. Few contemporary RPGs offer such a detailed rule system combined with open-ended exploration and party management. However, this same depth can also present a barrier to entry. Newcomers may find the mechanics overwhelming, and the absence of extensive hand-holding means that patience is required to fully grasp the systems at play. The pacing is deliberate, and progression often requires careful reading of quest logs and dialogue to uncover clues. Overall, Realms of Arkania: Star Trail stands as a dedicated revival of a classic RPG philosophy. It offers a richly detailed world, intricate character development, and methodical tactical combat rooted in traditional tabletop mechanics. While it may not appeal to players seeking fast-paced, cinematic storytelling or streamlined accessibility, it provides a rewarding and immersive experience for those willing to invest the time and effort. For fans of deep, old-school role-playing games, Star Trail remains a challenging and substantial journey through a carefully constructed fantasy realm. Rating: 6/10
Just found out there's an event early in the game that removes ALL your equipment and items. And you don't get them back. So folks, think about whether you enjoy CRPGs where that happens. I wish I didn't play so long already, I'd have refunded. Also, of course, hilariously enough, the 3d character models are EVEN MORE UGLY than the Blade of Destiny remake, which is amazing. And so is the appearance of all the areas you move through in the first person view now. It's like they turned off all lighting except flat lighting, it's that bad. I don't know how they released a sequel four years later and had everything become so much uglier than the originally already quite mediocre appearance. I'm disappointed to an absurd degree. I really enjoyed the Blade of Destiny remake, warts and all. Was not expecting this game to be such a big step down.
solid rpg the controls are bit clunky and not alot happens without much reading and travelling I found the travel time too long for map distances
Oldschool game upgraded, still vaiting shadows over Riva
