About
You are a slugcat. The world around you is full of danger, and you must face it – alone. Separated from your family in a devastating flood, you will need to find food and shelter between terrifying torrential downpours which threaten to drown all life. Climb through the ruins of an ancient civilization, evade the jaws of vicious predators, and discover new lands teeming with strange creatures and buried mysteries. Find your family before something makes a meal of you!
Inspired by the simplicity and aesthetics of 16-bit classics, this survival platformer requires clever decision-making, both to catch your own prey and to avoid the jaws of hungry predators. Each ravenous foe in your path will be cunning, vicious and always on the hunt – eager to sink their teeth into you, or even each other. As a small, soft slugcat you must rely on stealth and wit rather than force: learn the ecosystem and turn their strengths to your advantage. Maybe then you can survive… Rain World!

Every market we collect.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Really cool atmosphere, and I really want to like it, but this game doesn't respect your time, doesn't respect your progress, and punishes you for playing it. The game has interesting, dynamic controls, and your character will react and adhere to the terrain as you move around. This is good. Everything can kill you. This is also fine, it means you need to learn how to deal with each unique threat so you don't get nuked. There are also some tricky platforming sections. This is also fine, it adds some tension. However, when the cool, dynamic controls mean that the mere act of crouching while standing near a ledge so you can charge the long jump to make it across the gap might make your character instead immediately throw themselves off the edge and make you start the whole day over, that's a problem. Or if your character's dynamic adhesion to the terrain mean that you constantly have to go slow or else risk one of your jumps getting eaten and plummeting to your death, that's a problem. A lot of the enemies are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, which isn't necessarily a problem. Stealth games exist and can be done well. However, when every enemy in the game can one shot you, and almost every enemy in the game can wander around the map and use fast travel points to travel to the room you're in to one shot you, that's a problem. There are big doors throughout the game that lead to new zones, that you can only enter by surviving for at least 2, 3, 4, 5 days in a row. This is an interesting mechanic because it means you have to be careful and learn where to find food and how to survive the enemies in your current zone before you can move on. However, entering one of these huge progression doors doesn't give you any kind of checkpoint, so if after spending 3 days in your current zone being really careful to scavenge enough and avoid enemies, you enter the big door but you don't find a safe zone and enough food to survive in this entirely new zone by the end of the day, you die and wake back behind the big progress door, but now with 1 less "days survived in a row". So to even get the chance to go back through the big door into the new zone again, you now have to waste another day ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around in the zone you're trying to leave. And if while you're doing that, you happen to die to a literal invisible chameleon that can paralyze you from 1/3 of the entire screen away, you're now going to have to waste two full days ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around in the zone you're trying to leave before you can even attempt to go to the new zone again. Hard games, and games that punish you for failure can be done well. Rain World takes that a step further, and punishes you for progressing.
best 3$ i ever spend
I waited until I beat this game to finally review it, though my mind was made up quite quickly after an hour of playing to know how horrible an experience it would be. For some background I only enjoy difficult games; I have spent countless hours in other relentless games like Noita and Spelunky. Rainworld is a "hard game" which in reality is a game where if you don't have the wiki up the game wastes your time. Through clunky controls and the worst camera positioning for a platformer I have ever seen, this game quickly lets you know it has massive flaws. This game treats the player like an idiot while failing to teach them what they need to know to progress, while throwing them into the most unfair situations. It fails to instruct the player on what their goal is other than to survive, yet hints for you to explore through following this yellow creature. However, the game actively punishes you for exploring blindly with out the wiki's map as you are put on a timer that kills you if you fail to find shelter, which the player has no idea where they will be without outside assistance. In later areas of the game these save points are so far between with so much danger that it becomes insanely rage inducing quickly with a lot of rng if you progress. The community constantly excuses the games unforgiving nature saying "It's an ecosystem, and it shouldn't care for you". Though I can see the logic, it falls flat as the game will treat you like the main target; large enemies will try to eat you when there is much bigger creatures around they could simply go for. And those same bigger creatures will go for you at the same time! And the game should care for the player, as the point of playing games is to have fun, even if it is trying to be artsy at the same time. The camera deserves a whole section dedicated to how bad it is: Each area you progress through in the game has a static camera displaying the room you are in. However, the camera doesn't always show the full room, so you can have instant kill enemies off screen that can scrub a huge amount of progress in an instant. In later areas of the game, you can simply be thrown into instant death without hindsight as you can't see ahead of the room. It is simply inexcusable how bad a core part of the game like this could be thought of acceptable that even mods are made to fix issues like this. I will not be going into spoiler territory for the game and out of respect for those who still wish to play should stop reading.
The game wants you to explore, as to complete it and reach the end. However, as I played the game and reached focal points I expected to be rewarded story wise, as the journey was horrible as this game can be so unfair. Yet when I reached "Looks to the Moon" I am greeted with basically nothing. I end up killing the character who I spent all this time trying to get to, even though it was obvious I shouldn't. There was simply nothing else communicated by the game for me to do at this point. I then find out I permanently lose the orange indicator of where I have to go for the rest of the game.

This is the start of where I slowly have to keep going online to progress, and for nothing. I reach "Five Pebbles" after going through the most terribly designed area "Unfortunate Development". And I'm once again rewarded with no real lore, story and I'm told vaguely I have to go some other place again. Inevitably, after reaching "Sky Islands" I snap and finally HAVE to start using the online map. There simply is barely any save points and no indication of where to go. And after reaching the final area "Void Sea", I'm rewarded with a short, cryptic cutscene that made me feel nothing.
After all the hardship the game put me through, I simply didn't care. The game didn't care if I had fun, or about my time and then acts like I should about its' pretentious nothing story. I will absolutely receive hate for this review as the community has a massive toxic positivity relationship with this game, and thinks this game is flawless. But no, I don't think most people should ever touch this game, and if you are to interact with it to just watch a playthrough as this is the only way I can see normal people getting any enjoyment out of it.
trying to do anything with the rain deer makes me want to rip my skin off and deep fry myself
THIS GAME MAKES ME WANT TO DIE. Very good though!
