I heartily recommend this game to those who enjoy strategy and puzzle games - the music is excellent, the art style is pleasant, and adapting to the differing mechanics of each map type has been a fun challenge. I enjoy both strategy games and puzzles, and this has been a fine example of both. One very minor gripe is that the Natural Wonders for the Ice Age maps - a set of glacial lakes - felt a little underwhelming, visually. That being said, I have some issues with the Jurassic segment of the game. Of the animals featured, one of them belongs to the Triassic period, two of the regular animals belong to the Cretaceous, both late-game high-scoring animals are Cretaceous, and four of the five Natural Wonders animals are Cretaceous. The in-game model of the animal labeled as Archaeopteryx - a bird - is a pterosaur, more similar to Dimorphodon. The animal labeled as Hadrosaurus is Lambeosaurus; Hadrosaurus lacked the head crest that is a defining feature of Lambeosaurine hadrosaurs. I wish that the attention to detail and care in selecting animals that live in communities with each other in the modern day maps had been applied to the Mesozoic map type - basing it specifically on, for example, the Hell Creek Formation would have allowed an assemblage of no less diversity than what is present in-game. Again, this does not mean I do not recommend the game to others. While these details bug me as a palaeontology enthusiast, they do not outweigh my enjoyment, not only of working out solutions that allow me to maximize the score and create vibrant habitats, but of watching the results of my handiwork. I especially enjoyed the Natural Wonders of the Marine map type!

I really like the relaxing athmosphere of this game, though do not be fooled, it is actually a challenging puzzle game too (at least it is for me)! If you prefer a more chill, brain off round, there is a creative mode too. The only thing I'd suggest is maybe more free "undos" as it is a pretty unforgiving game if you make a mistake. I found myself picking flowers instead of grass and didn't notice it before I already put three tiles of them. All that said, I do recommend if you're looking for a chill strategy game.

It's not bad, per se, but might just be a bit ~too~ simple and relaxing for my taste. When I read the store-page hyping up 'multi-layered habitats and ecosystems', I expected a bit more than each tile being able to hold exactly one habitat, with each habitat being a perfectly closed off creature container from other habitats. The graphics and soundscape are pleasing, but the mechanics are uninovative and simplistic. So I'll pass on this one.

Would've been ok'ish, even though not very exciting, chill puzzle game, but the first attempt to return to menu makes the game completely broken.

The game comes with 4 biomes, which all play a little bit different from each other, and each biome comes in 3 different sizes, which brings its own challenges. So replayability is quite high. I found the gameplay loops to be satisfying and occasionally challenging, just the right amount. Although you can play a free play mode that comes with no challenges. What makes this game really stand out though is the music and the music direction. Both are absolutely phenomenal. Game stays in its steam folder, does not pollute your hard drive. One point of criticism I have is that when ALT+TABbing to a different window, this game and its sounds don't pause or stop. The music will just keep playing. I'd really appreciate if this could be fixed. I'm very excited about this game. A simple, relaxing game, but one that requires some thought and strategic positioning. A truly great game, and an even better DLC.

非常休闲解压的益智游戏 游戏内各种不同生态环境的音乐都挺有特色，生态聚落也挺有特色的，游玩起来非常轻松悠闲。 不过各种生态都比较温和，局内的聚落基本都在同纬度，其实还可以更大胆一点，我是比较希望看到超大型的生态系统，同时存在沙漠，极地，高原等等特殊地形，那才叫生态模拟。

Preserve deserves more recognition. It's beautiful, it's relaxing, it's soothing, it's engaging (for what it is). But most importantly it's just plain ole 'fun'. Def recommend this one to any & all nature/animal lovers. Or random puzzle-lite enjoyers.

If you like tile placement/management type games, then this is the perfect one! I come back to this game every so often and fall in love all over again every time. I love that I can play a quick round or spend hours on the game!
