Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 5.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
From Obsidian, this game is a historical narrative-driven game focusing on character development, heavily stylized art, and choice-driven storytelling in early 16th century Bavaria. Players will play as Andreas Maler, a clever illustrator caught up in a series of murders in Tassing and Kiersau Abbey over the course of twenty five years. Players will be responsible for conducting their own investigation to decide the fate of the community, but each decision will have lasting consequences and inexorably draws Andreas closer to the center of an underlying conspiracy.
Experience 16th century Europe as the master artists of the time saw them. Art inspired by great illuminated manuscripts and the earliest printed books becomes a living, breathing world in Pentiment.
Choose different academic and social backgrounds and meet a colorful cast of characters as you discover the stories and secrets that lie within the small Bavarian town of Tassing and nearby Keirsau Abbey.
In an era of great religious and political change, each decision you make can have a profound impact on the community’s future. Find your own way through this turbulent time and see the consequences of your choices play out over generations.

。
medieval manuscript nerdlüğünüz varsa (benim varmış oynarken fark ettim) ya da umberto eco'nun the name of the rose gibi işleri seviyosanız tam sizlik. art style da çok iyi

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

"Art is illusion, storytelling, but in their most sublime form, these images form a path to truth." (Brother Piero) What a game. Playing through 20-something hours of the game was the equivalent of the feeling of having read your favourite book trilogy or TV series. It leaves an profound internal impact in the end, that you'll have to stare at the screen for a moment to reflect. Games like Pentiment are often a testament of how video games as a medium can be used to define and portray complex themes while also portraying history, art, philosophy while also exploring a hero story. This is a narrative-heavy game and it does it well. The story is self-contained (possible spoiler?) and it is incredibly rich with historical, theological and spiritual anecdotes. The town and abbey truly manages to immerse you with, embelished interesting characters that you can see grow in different parts of their own stories and incredible sound design- probably the best I've heard in a long time. The story manages not just to address an artist's internal conflicts, grief, loss, the burden of responsibility, guilt and finding hope by leaving the maze that illusions you into thinking it's protecting you, but also the quest for finding the truth about a past that is hidden by the fear of losing faith and maintaining peace. The game is not without flaws, moving around the game sometimes feels like a chore considering there are locations you will return to several times or walk/run through often. And oftentimes you're hunting for someone you had previously already talked to (and they probably just said 'God bless you, Andreas'). But in my opinion, this, along with the relative slow burn of this game can entirely be looked over for the payoff in the end and having experienced it all the same. What a game.
One of the main things I respect about Pentiment is that your choices are permanent. The game does not let you save scum, or save at all really. Time moves forward, there is no looking back. It made me think about how small actions can have large consequences on others. Where most games have a good and a bad way of doing things, Pentiment does not allow its choices to be so binary. This might make you feel uncomfortable at times, especially with no way to revert regrettable actions, but it is how things are. We find meaning in those around us, and our collective actions define who we are. Not everything is in your control. There is little in the form of actual gameplay, it is more like an interactive book. I did not mind though, it easily keeps your attention with the engaging plot and attention to (historical) detail. The art, which when I first saw this game did not click for me, is actually incredible. The style and consistency with which this game pulls off its ideas are what is most engaging about it. Finally, the story is really well written. I won't say too much about it, but every character feels like somebody to remember. The third act is a little less interesting in the beginning than the other two, but at the end it ramps up again and closes with a great finale. You might say this review is not very critical of this game and you would be right. Pentiment is incredible and I am glad I finally got around to playing it.
The gameplay is kind of boring, with only a few puzzles beyond the original gameplay, but the plot is amazing.
Best game of the genre. The amount of care and historical references is mind-blowing, and the game is definitely worth playing for more than one playthrough. The art is gorgeously good, the prose and atmosphere well-crafted. Definitely a project the dev team has poured their heart into.
An occurrence in many great RPGs is the moment when you sit and consider what the best thing to say or do is, genuinely weighing the consequences. This only occurs when 1. You are sufficiently invested in the world and characters to care what happens to them and 2. The game has actually convinced you that your actions have consequences and actually affect the characters and world. Pentiment is thoroughly saturated with such occurrences. Its aesthetic and atmosphere are fantastic and the manuscript style fits the game and world so wonderfully. I am also thoroughly entertained by the fact that this game cares enough about this setting to have a bibliography at the end of its credits. While the gameplay is virtually nonexistent, as this game is partially Point And Click Adventure Game and Visual Novel, that isn't an issue. The gameplay is essentially just talking, but that's the point. You aren't challenged by a difficult boss, rather, a tricky situation or a moral conundrum. The story itself works splendidly and I was satisfied by it as a whole, as well as the ending. I will not be assigning a number score of any kind. If you like Point And Click Adventures, Visual Novels, you'll probably like this a great deal. If you need action in a game or engaging gameplay, maybe consider whether this game is for you before buying it and spending between 15 to 20 hours on it. Either way, I am so happy that a game so dedicated to art was able to be made into such a great work of art.
This has to be one of my favorite narrative games in recent years. It kind of reminds me of Disco Elysium, but at the same time it's completely different, even less pure-mechanics-focused. I never considered myself a history nerd, but oh boy, this game pushed me hard in that direction. It bought me with its mystery, believable characters and lots and lots of discussions about philosophy, theology and art. Running around is sometimes a little annoying, and at first I didn't understand how time works, and what's the best way to optimally spend it and now miss an important conversation (game is very open in that way). I was afraid I would miss something, and I wasn't sure when and how it can happen. I don't consider myself a completionist, so I guess it also speaks volumes about how much I cared about the story. I also appreciate the option to have a bit of Polish background, it's a nice detail. The amount of research that seems to have been done for this game is so impressive, that it can be seen and smelled from miles away. I just love, LOVE this game.
