"Paris in the fall, the last months of the year, at the end of the millennium. The city holds many memories for me, of cafés, of music, of love... and of death."
I really do love this game. I am an early 90s baby, and I remember playing this on my dad's Dell laptop back in the day! The fact that I could switch between updated graphics and the original look, gave me a hit of nostalgia that brought back so many happy memories. The gameplay is brilliant, a good bit of comedy (some I didn't remember because it's aimed at adults), and just the best point and click I have ever played. I'm trying to get my daughter's into the broken sword saga! It's a must play for any point and click/adventure game enthuasiasts. Puzzles are good, not too hard. If you want to complete all achievements I would highly advise to go through the game alongside the achievement guides :)
Любимая серия игры. Рекомендую.
slow and boring
The UI for Broken Sword 2 Remastered (an older game) is more responsive than this game. Some quality of life improvements would have made this game better e.g. More fast travel options when transitioning between scenes, the ability to skip repetitive walk animations, better dialogue skipping.
Прекрасная игра) Обязательно перепройду еще раз.
One of the best adventure games ever made. Even without the nostalgia-blindness, the story direction, voice acting, and puzzles are remarkable for 1996 - and hold up surprisingly well in 2026. The visual upgrades are night and day from the original, which you can actually switch to for comparison in-game! The best way I can describe this version is that it looks and feels how I remember it being, looking through an old CRT monitor at 10 years old.
Some interesting puzzles and a unique story. It took me entirely too long to realize that bringing up the same topic with a character could prompt new dialogue and wouldn't just lead to a repetition of what they'd just said. I think I found that especially confusing because showing an item to a character or interacting with objects would often lead to repeated dialogue. I also, unfortunately, found the main character to be absolutely insufferable personality-wise. I'd give this game a solid B and definitely recommend waiting for a sale to pick it up.
