Gameplay-wise? The game is awesome. It's an upgrade to Payday 2, and a very worthwhile one at that. BUT there is one major issue that makes me recommend that no one buy the game. Unlike in Payday 2, you cannot join random people's lobbies without owning the DLCs... This is a major, money-hungry move that makes the game extremely hostile to solo players, or even people who occasionally play without a friend who owns the DLCs.

a lil more difficult version of payday, feels like more a battle of resources than mindless dopamine simulator
Honestly, I really want to like this game, but with how many very annoying bugs there still are, I can't recommend it. Starting from weapon customization, when you select a pattern and all 4 colors at once and you buy it, it will softlock you into the screen, having to restart the game or missions bugging out where you need a bouncer and somehow he isn't to be seen anywhere. This game needs more attention from Starbreeze; they either continue PD2 and upgrade that engine or do PD3, but it seems like they don't know either. Really disappointing.
Horrible launch but its fine now. Payday2 has more heists and features but i like the visuals this one has.
I'm a big fan of Payday 2, and I've heard the horror stories of this game at launch. I can say that this game isn't bad at all. It has gotten its fair share of updates, making it feel more like payday than it did at launch. There are still some issues with the game, like balancing the cops with the player, but I think that could easily be fixed by adding new specials, making the existing ones stronger, or adding Death Wish/Death Sentence difficulty like in Payday 2. Overall, it's still a fun game that will kill time when you're bored. I look forward to the future updates of the game, and hopefully the devs will implement more free content as an incentive for new and returning players to try out the game again. The 2 new types of vests and the tutorial mode is a good start, but I think a big free content update is greatly needed to regain popularity and players to this franchise.
Getting to a better place, booted it up as of 7/13/2026 and for the first time I actually was getting into it. I wont go into convincing a person to buy this after the horrific history of this game. But honestly, this game is fun to me now, i started seeing that payday in my payday game. Overall, pleasantly suprised, and eager to see where it goes.
It's a good game, but in almost three years they couldn't make more than 12 heists I have only 36 hours and I have played it all for like 4-5 times You can remake heists all you want, remake skill system all you want, but if you have no content there will be no players to play your remakes.
