Все идеи и музыкальные номера для «Smells Like Children» были разработаны во время тура, посвященного выходу дебютного альбома группы «Portrait of an American Family». Этот проект стал важным этапом в карьере Marilyn Manson и оставил заметный след в истории музыки 90-х годов.
Painted Memories is a very atmospheric game with an intriguing and mysterious plot, and you can also get it almost for free, the cards pay back more than half the cost
Играем за человечка, стреляем в призраков из арбалета и пытаемся выжить. Очень темно и порой не совсем понятно куда идти.
1 hand clapping, awake but napping
Painted Memories is an atmospheric top-down action-adventure developed by QuickSave and published by SA Industry that leans heavily into old-school design values built around exploration, self-discovery, and minimal guidance. Rather than leading players by the hand with quest markers or explicit objectives, the game places you into a mysterious world and asks you to learn its rules organically. This design philosophy immediately defines the experience, making curiosity and patience as important as combat skill or puzzle-solving ability. From a gameplay perspective, Painted Memories blends real-time combat, environmental puzzles, and exploration into a cohesive but deliberately restrained loop. The player character gradually acquires tools such as a crossbow, torch, and other equipment that serve multiple purposes beyond simple combat. Weapons are not just instruments of offense; they are also means of interacting with the environment, solving puzzles, and accessing previously unreachable areas. This layered utility gives progression a tangible sense of growth, as each new item subtly reshapes how the world can be navigated and understood. Exploration is the game’s strongest pillar, but also its most divisive. The absence of clear direction encourages players to experiment, revisit areas, and piece together progression through trial and observation. When this design clicks, it creates moments of genuine satisfaction, as discovering a hidden path or solving an environmental challenge feels earned rather than scripted. However, this same lack of structure can also lead to confusion, particularly in the early hours, where it may not be immediately clear which paths are viable or what the next meaningful goal should be. Players who enjoy open-ended discovery will likely appreciate this freedom, while others may find the ambiguity frustrating. Combat in Painted Memories is functional and occasionally engaging, but inconsistent in execution. Encounters range from tense skirmishes that reward positioning and timing to repetitive fights that expose limitations in enemy variety and behavior. Boss encounters provide spikes in challenge and spectacle, serving as clear milestones within the adventure, yet they too can feel uneven depending on player preparation and mechanical familiarity. The crossbow stands out as a satisfying core weapon, though overall combat depth remains modest and rarely evolves beyond its initial framework. Narratively, the game takes a subtle, background-driven approach. Story elements are present but understated, revealed through the environment and brief moments of character development rather than extended dialogue or cinematic exposition. This restraint allows the atmosphere to do much of the storytelling, reinforcing a sense of isolation and quiet mystery. While the narrative is not particularly complex or emotionally charged, it complements the exploratory nature of the game by giving context without overwhelming the player with exposition. Visually, Painted Memories adopts a subdued, atmospheric aesthetic that favors mood over technical polish. Environments such as forests, ruins, and dark corridors are designed to feel eerie and contemplative, even if they lack fine detail or animation complexity. The top-down perspective keeps navigation readable and reinforces the game’s focus on spatial awareness. Audio design supports this tone with ambient soundscapes rather than standout musical themes, creating a consistent but understated atmosphere that encourages immersion without demanding attention. The game’s indie roots are most apparent in its rough edges. Animations can feel stiff, interactions occasionally lack feedback, and overall polish does not match the ambition of the design. These issues are rarely game-breaking, but they accumulate over time, especially during longer play sessions. For some players, these imperfections will feel like part of the game’s handmade charm; for others, they may undermine immersion and enjoyment. Ultimately, Painted Memories is a game driven more by intent than refinement. Its commitment to unguided exploration, tool-based progression, and atmospheric storytelling gives it a distinct identity, even when execution falters. It is best suited for players who appreciate indie action-adventures that value discovery over direction and are willing to tolerate mechanical roughness in exchange for freedom and mood. While it may not fully realize all of its ideas, Painted Memories offers a thoughtful, quietly engaging journey that rewards curiosity and persistence, standing as a sincere example of indie ambition shaped by limited resources but clear creative vision. Rating: 6/10
This game offers an interesting experience with a great story and plenty of puzzles to keep you engaged. The atmosphere really enhances the whole experience, and the exploration elements add to the fun. For the price, it definitely offers a lot of value—providing a good mix of emotions and entertainment. It’s simple and not too difficult, but still very interesting throughout.
Not sure who plays this but its not really for me
Ночь, вокруг мрачная территория и ты, вооруженный луком отстреливаешься от противников, попутно находя обрывки страниц из блокнота. Чтобы выбраться - нужно собрать 12 листов, а это не так просто...
