This is probably the best turn based game I have played ever. I know it looks like a dinky little cap anime Indy game but I put at least as much time into this as XCOM 2 or Fire Emblem POR and RD my other options for best Turn based like this. It just has so many exciting systems so many permanently boost that keep you hunting to build the perfect character. It really is a 9/10 game. The game is just so well thought out and well crafted. Every time i was like "i wish i could do X" i could. This ranges from saving load outs, unequipping automatically to even setting a number of days for the enemy to go up in level. The game looks good and feels good. There are so many positives that I will leave the ONLY two negatives i found because there is too much to list all the positives. The story is VERY standard and ehh i would say 6 or 7 out of 10. Also the artist was probably much better at drawing female anime characters so the men can look a tad effeminate.
First and foremost to get the Elephant out of the room: The Graphic/Artstyle is horrendous and is by far the worst part of this game. At some point you "accept" it as a part of the game however. With that said this game is incredible amazing and as far as i can remember all done by one single dev. Cons: - Graphic/Artstyle - Outside of the Main Story Maps there are only 4 - 5 Maps for your Quests Neutral: - The Enemys could have a higher variety. It's not bad and in the higher you get to see more variants of the same enemys, however it is still a little bit too few for my taste. - The Gem System could have been more expanded on it does feel kinda lackluster - In the later Stages of the game you tend to grind alot to get the best armor Pros: - The Builds, Classes and Combat is incredible and super fun to tinker with. Probably one of the best i've ever experienced. - The Main Story Quests are really well done and challenging. Everytime you encounter something completely different. - The random events on your quests have a wide variety and even after 70 hours i ran into new ones. - I paid 10€ for the base game and 5€ for the DLC. I haven't touched the Tower yet and i'm one quest away from the End of the Main Story and have 80h now. There's ALOT of Content in here - The Mix between Turn Based Combat, Managing your Guild, Character Traits, Crafting and much more mixes super well. TL;DR I highly recommend this game for ppl. who are willing to set aside the horrid graphics/artstyle and some minor lackluster systems. You'll get a game that is definetly worth the Price and keeps you entertainted for a long time. If you are into that kind of games that is.
这个画风真的是玩不下去 游戏性再高也忍不了
Amazing and addictive gameplay loop. Felt very satisfied with the combat. The story feels a little bit weak but overall the game is a solid 8. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a strategy RPG experience that has dungeon crawling elements and party management built into it.
Interesting game with a lot of good mechanics from other great games, as others already mentioned. Blend in with a pretty decent storyline and some humor in between, it's a solid game to buy and play for a good amount of time. At the same time, I don't see myself playing it much long now that I got the gist of it. Everything comes down to this point: ** The Numeric Balancing for Combat ** which results in a number of problems in my view: 1. Stats is king. When you evaluate your adventurers, you can mostly just look at their stat growth for specific roles you want them to play. You'll want to fish for the events that boost their stats/growth. And some story characters with very interesting skills become sub-par compared with the one just with raw growth. 2. Dodge build is either OP or useless. The damage*accuracy quadratic scaling from emery is really punishing from higher difficulty and enemy level. So an end game dodge build character can either single handedly wipe the map or got one-shotted by high level enemy or bosses. 3. Custom difficulty settings doesn't provide anything extra. It's just a slide bar on enemy health, damage and accuracy for combat, effectively same as just scaling their levels. In the end, you'll just want to grind lower level enemies with your B~ teams, while building up the A team to push through story quests. In my view, it's much better to just use the original game difficulty selections and don't play around with things too much. Enjoy a couple of fun adventures and the story while it lasts.
I got to be honest, I'm probably going to still play this game even though I'm giving it a negative review, but I just have to give a negative review because this genuinely pisses me off even though I'm enjoying the gameplay so far... It's absolutely BS that you cannot influence who your characters become lovers with... in Fire Emblem, a game that does this the PROPER way the player has full control over what characters get into relationships, but in this game you have absolutely no control over it. I literally scouted two characters that I planned to have as lovers, I even wrote LORE for them in their biographies for fun just how much they LOVE each other, and I even got their relationship to 100 together and the rest of my party wasn't even 100 with them and these two characters both had a compatible sexuality with each other, and I spent SO MUCH MONEY putting them together on the level-3 food at the INN together even when they where at 100 relationship points. And you know what happened, the game is straight up RIGGED it kept pairing one of these characters I worked so hard to pair together... with ANOTHER CHARACTER that she didn't even have 100 relationship points with?!?! I reloaded my save because this happened 3 𝗙𝗨𝗖𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 TIMES as I played the game, and you know what? I have now beat the bandit king, and guess what it happened again. And I don't know if I want to reload my save to fight the bandit king all over again just to avoid this outcome because it seems it's clearly RIGGED. If you read this developer, your game is fun, but you messed up with the relationship mechanic big time and for that take this negative review, honestly I'm so disappointed this definitely soured my experience with the game which I was having quite a lot of fun with, but not having control over critical things like this honestly is very, VERY stupid, I almost regret buying the game and the DLC... I wasn't planning on leaving a negative review for this game, but this really pushed me to have to do so and for that I'm going to now list other problems I have with the game as well other than this BS... There is no keybind to fade to black and skip the enemy turn (like in Fire Emblem), I don't want to wait for a solid minute because the 10+ goblins are all taking their turn doing the moving animation coming towards me, and no putting it on max speed doesn't make it less annoying. The game could have used some sounds for the characters, why do enemies get to have an attack sound, but my characters can't? Would it have been so hard to just find some anime-themed male and female grunts sounds that are free to use as long as they are credited and give a character an option to choose between 3-5 voices with a pitch changer. Literally all you needed to add was like 1-3 different grunts sounds per voice for when a character gets hit or attacks... A big turn off for me was the artist seems to go out of his way to make the female characters as unsexy as possible?! Why do the female characters literally have NO BREASTS? Even Bai which is basically just wearing some cloth to cover her breasts she has NO breasts at all?!?! All the female characters basically look like FEMBOYS... and I know you can draw breasts too because the archer/ranger girl on the main menu has BREASTS, but in the actual game the characters have absolutely no breasts which should be a crime for an game with an anime artstyle. I don't know if this is a skill issue on your part or you are just a breastphobic, the art in the game isn't even the best it looks like something I drew back when I was 14 years old in gimp, but I am willing to put up with it for the good gameplay, but seriously LIKE SERIOUSLY WHY YOU AREN'T DRAWING WOMEN PROPERLY WHEN YOU CLEARLY CAN AS SHOWN IN THE MAIN MENU AND LOADING SCREEN ART... Another thing that really annoyed me, for a game that allows you to change your character's hair style, face style, eye color, and hair color, that is pretty nice, but it's not enough. Why can I not change the color of my character's armor/clothes?? It doesn't even have to effect the portrait art, it can just effect the animated overworld dungeon sprite, and I know it should be possible because the characters are clearly drawn in parts and then animated. So, it should be very possible just like how hair and eye color can be changed color that the armor could be recolored as well, this was something that could have made a huge difference and really make characters that share the same class still feel unique enough from one another, HUGE missed opportunity. And here's the final thing that annoys me quite a lot, I'm used to pressing ESC to basically work as a "cancel", "X", ect. key to get out of menus or essentially close something that would have a "cancel" button for example or a "go back" button.. many games do this because it's very good QOL for the players then they don't have to move the mouse to wherever the heck the button to close a UI menu is, but this game doesn't which makes interacting with certain UI quite annoying. That's all my complaints I can remember off the top of my head, honestly I'm really disappointed that this had to happen because I wanted to give this game a positive review after I was done playing through it because honestly I'm enjoying the turn-based combat so far this game is like a super simplified baby-version of fire emblem which is one of my favorite games, but it just really, really pissed me off I worked so hard to set up my two characters as lovers, made lore, fed them lavish dinners when they were already at max relationship points that easily wasted like 20k+ of my money, and I constantly even put them CLOSE TO EACH OTHER IN COMBAT TO DO THE FOLLOW-UP ATTACKS AND THE GAME RIGGED IT, THE GAME RIGGED IT, AND I AM SO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ANGRY THAT ALL MY EFFORT WAS FOR NOTHING. TAKE THIS NEGATIVE REVIEW BECAUSE YOU EARNED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved this game, the tech tree gives just enough to be not too complicated or too boring. The story is interesting and the humor is good. If you want a chill tactic rpg without a lot of extra unnecessary things. This is the game. The graphic is basic but the game is REALLY REALLY good.
Art is not for me but the rest of the game 100% was, and for a game, that's really all that matters
Loved this game! I have a hard time getting into a lot of new games. I keep coming back to this. 673 hours and counting.
Just wow! Our Adventurer's Guild is simply one of the best games I've ever played. I had as much fun as X-COM 2, my favorite game in this genre. The story and the soundtrack were nice. The characters progression, the new mission, unlocked abilities and options made the game always fresh and balanced. The guild management was also top notch. But the most important thing is I cared deeply about my characters, as the mix between great combat and solid party management completely captured me. If you like the genre, please Give Our Adventurer's Guild a try: I cannot recommend it more.
